Mamamoo's Moonbyul, who has been loved by the public for her charismatic rap, distinctive low-pitched vocals, and outstanding performance, has shown further musical development and released her second solo album [Dark] in about a year and nine months. Side of the Moon] was released.

The title song 'Eclipse' expresses the inner duality by comparing it to a 'solar eclipse' where the moon covers the sun. It is a hip hop dance song. Track 1. When the Moon Covers the Sun (Eclipse)
It is a hip-hop dance song with an impressive strong and punchy beat. The vocals blend with the dynamic track composition that approaches softly and gradually becomes rougher, completing a more captivating sound. The image of the two egos colliding from the inside was compared to 'the moon in the dark that covers the sun' and 'the star that fills with bright light'. 타이틀곡 ‘달이 태양을 가릴 때 (Eclipse)’는 내면의 이중성을 달이 태양을 가리는 ‘일식(日蝕)’에 빗대어 표현하며, 두 개의 자아가 내면에서 충돌하는 모습을 강렬하고 펀치감 있는 비트로 표현한 힙합 댄스 곡이다. 달의 뒷면에서부터 어둠으로 빛을 잠식하는 ‘MONSTER’와 별이 되어 환하게 비춰 그 어둠으로부터 지켜주겠다는 ‘MOONSTAR’의 선명한 대비를 통해 압도적인 존재감을 드러낸다.

우리가 보지 못했던 달의 서늘한 뒷면은 일식(日蝕)에서야 가장 밝은 태양의 빛을 받는다. 그리고 이때, 우리가 마주하던 하얗게 빛나는 달의 면은 태양의 반대편에서 한없이 어두워진다. 이 모습은 마치 우리 내면에 공존하며 이따금 얼굴을 바꾸는 선과 악을 닮아 보이는데, 앨범에서는 문(門)의 수호신이자 두 얼굴을 가진 야누스에 ‘문별’을 투영시켜 ‘달(MOON)’이라는 매개체로 그 양면성을 극대화 했다.

이번 앨범은 타이틀곡인 ‘달이 태양을 가릴 때 (Eclipse)’를 시작으로, 문별의 자작곡이자 부드러운 음색이 돋보이는 ‘mirror’, 그루비한 사운드로 나 자신을 더 사랑하자는 메시지를 담은 ‘ILJIDO’, “내 삶은 내가 만드는 것” 문별의 당당함으로 가득 찬 ‘MOON MOVIE’가 차례로 담겨있다. 이어 문별과 펀치의 감성 시너지가 긴 여운을 남기며 많은 사랑을 받았던 선공개곡 ‘낯선 날 (Feat. 펀치) (Weird Day)’과 생일을 맞아 팬들을 위해 제작한 MV의 삽입곡 ‘눈 (Snow)’까지 다양한 장르의 수록곡들로 역대급 완성도를 자랑한다. 이번 앨범을 통해 팬들을 향한 진심 어린 마음과, 매 순간 성장하는 솔로 아티스트로서의 면모를 선보인다.

특히 쟈니브로스 홍원기 감독이 메가폰을 잡은 ‘달이 태양을 가릴 때 (Eclipse)’ 뮤직비디오는 내면의 선과 악을 분명하게 구분 짓는 문별의 다채로운 표정 연기와 퍼포먼스가 한순간도 눈을 뗄 수 없는 몰입감을 보여준다. 한층 강렬하고 파워풀한 군무는 문별의 중성적인 매력을 극대화하였고, 걸그룹에서 쉽게 볼 수 없었던 강인함이 신선하게 다가온다.
