이 앨범에 관한 이야기는 결국 이기광이라는 사람에 대한 이해에서 시작된다.

안다. 이 연예계란 곳은 언제나 눈에 띄는, 언제나 새로운, 언제나 뭔가 조금 더 다른 것을 보여주는 사람들과 또 그런 걸 보고 싶어하는 사람들로 대부분 이루어졌다는 걸. 그래서 언제나 새로운 걸 고민하는 것은 당연한 몫이다. 물론 그룹의 일원으로서도 끝없이 고민해오고 다양한 아이디어를 제시하지만, 혼자서 자신이 보여줄 수 있는 것은 또 조금 다르다고 생각했다.

그래서 이번에는 조금 더 욕심을 내었다. 화려한 액세서리와 한번도 써보지 않았던 모자, 짙은 아이라인과 다양한 의상, 새롭게 시도해보는 여러 장르의 곡들, 시선을 사로잡는 안무까지, 데뷔때부터 한번도 보지 못했던 다양한 모습을 빼곡히 담아 이 앨범을 만들었다.

새로운 모습을 보여주는 건 늘 떨리는 일이다. '호오'가 분명한 요즘 세상에서 혹시나 자신의 변화를 싫어하면 어쩌지 라는 막연한 불안감도 분명 존재한다. 그래도 결국 이 모습도 저 모습도 모두 이기광이라는 사람이 가지고 있었던 원래의 모습이라는 것을 생각해 봐주면 좋겠다.

멋진 안무는 작은 동작 하나하나까지 끝없이 연습하며 무대를 볼 사람들에게 가장 멋지게 보일 수 있도록 고민하는 집요함에서, 귀를 사로잡는 12곡의 꽉 찬 트랙리스트는 아주 오래전부터 차곡차곡 자작곡들을 만들어서 모아두고 언젠가 세상에 나올 때를 기다리며 최선의 곡들을 골랐던 묵묵함에서, 그리고 다양한 의상과 앨범에 대한 여러 가지 아이디어는 끊임없이 고민하고 생각했던 그의 성실함에서 나왔다는 것을. 그는 원래부터 그런 사람이었고, 아주 오랜 시간 변하지 않는 사람이었다는 것을.

자신만의 시간 안에서 자신만의 텐션을 가지고 꾸준히 살아온 사람. 그런 사람이 힘을 내서 보여주고 싶어한 자신의 내면안에 있는 여러 가지 다른 모습은, 정말로 변하지 않는 사람이 보여주는 그 극명한 변화의 간극은 우리가 그를 더 사랑하게 만드는 이유일 것이다.
