“어떤가요”로 지친 청춘을 위로하고, “같이 걸어요”로 달달한 봄 노래를 선사했던 정은지가 약 1년 3개월 만에 미니 4집 [Simple]로 돌아왔다.
단순한 것이 가장 아름답다는 의미를 담은 이번 앨범 [Simple]은 복잡하고 생각이 많은 세상을 살아가면서 어려운 것들을 내려놓고 조금은 쉽고 단순하게 살아가자는 내용과 그렇게 살아가고 싶은 정은지의 바램을 담았다. 이번 앨범엔 총 6곡이 담겨있으며 전 곡 정은지가 작사에 참여하여 정은지만이 보여줄 수 있는 감성들과 스토리들이 앨범이 녹아있다.

【Simple】의 타이틀곡인 ‘AWay’는 하루하루를 바쁘게 살아내고 있는 모든 이 시대의 사람들과 정은지 본인을 생각하며 쓴 가사로, 김연서와 밍지션 작곡가가 오로지 정은지만을 위해 선사한 곡이다. 바쁘게 살아가느라 놓친 공허한 마음을 이제라도 돌아보면서 어딘가 떠나고 싶은 마음을 가사에 담아내었으며, 정은지의 파워풀한 보이스로 시원하고 신나는 느낌이 더해졌다.
