Following the first mini album, the second mini-album 'WAKE UP' once again worked together with hit producer Tim Sweetune, and members Wooyoung, Junghoon, and Kyungha directly participated in writing lyrics such as rap making for the title song and b-side songs, demonstrating the musical quality of the members. Capabilities are gradually being added.

The title song MIND CONTROL of this second mini-album 'WAKE UP' is a song that expresses the heart of the second love that comes to doubt "Is this really love?" It is an attractive song with a representative introduction and a whistling sound at the end. The powerful choreography with shuffling added to the exciting rhythm of the song adds to the pleasure of watching the stage.

The title song was choreographed by Kwon Jae-seung, a dance trainer who is appearing in Season 2 of Mnet's 'Produce 101', and the music video was directed by Johnny Bros' director Lee Sa-gang, following the first mini-album title song She.

Saying I Like It is dance music that has been completed by gathering expressions of various genres. The hip-hop beat, the verse led by the guitar riff, and the expression of Surf Guitar, which stands out with semitone progression, create a grotesque atmosphere. However, in the hook, it was transformed into an exciting funky disco centered on synths and strings with a sense of section, and in the rap part, various musical attempts and expressions were made with a combination of sitar and trap beats that highlight the capabilities of rappers. 2017년 1월 1일 데뷔하며 다양한 매력으로 팬들을 사로잡은 보이 그룹, 일급비밀이 TOPSECRET SCHOOL 학교 시리즈 2탄, 두번째 미니앨범 ‘ WAKE UP ’ 으로 돌아왔다.

두번째 미니앨범 ‘ WAKE UP ’ 은 첫번째 미니앨범에 이어 히트 프로듀서 팀 스윗튠과 다시 한번 호흡을 맞췄으며, 타이틀곡 및 수록곡에 멤버 우영, 정훈, 경하가 직접 랩 메이킹 등 작사에 참여하며 멤버들이 가진 음악적 역량도 차근 차근 담아가고 있다.

일급비밀(TOPSECRET)에게 찾아온 두번째 사랑 "MIND CONTROL"

이번 두번째 미니앨범 ‘ WAKE UP ’의 타이틀곡 MIND CONTROL은 설레임이 가득했던 첫사랑과는 다르게 상대를 좋아하게 되었음에도 "이게 정말 사랑이 맞을까" 하고 의심을 먼저 되는 두번째 사랑의 마음을 표현한 곡으로, 흔들리는 마음을 대변하는 듯한 도입부와 엔딩의 휘파람 소리가 매력적인 곡이다. 신나는 곡의 리듬에 맞춰 셔플이 가미된 파워풀한 안무는 무대를 보는 즐거움을 더해준다.

타이틀곡의 안무는 Mnet '프로듀스 101' 시즌 2에 출연하고 있는 댄스 트레이너 안무가 권재승, 뮤직비디오는 첫번째 미니앨범 타이틀곡 She 에 이어 쟈니브로스의 이사강 감독과 함께 했다.

처음 겪어보는 사랑은 어린 마음이 겪는 최초의 지진, 마치 재난과 같다. 그래서 두 번째로 찾아오는 사랑은 제 나름의 대비를 한 마음에게 의심부터 일으키고 본다. ‘이게 정말 사랑이 맞을까’ 하고 어설프게라도 ‘Mind Control’ 하는 후렴부는 그걸 대변한다. ‘내 마음에 선을 그을까’ 하다가도 ’좋아한다 착각이라도 해’ 줬으면 하는, 이리 저리 흔들리는 화자의 마음을 대변하는 듯한 휘파람 소리가 상쾌하게 느껴지는 곡.

3. 좋다니까 (DUMB)
좋다니까는 다양한 장르의 표현이 모여서 완성된 댄스 음악이다. 힙합적인 비트와 기타리프가 이끄는 verse, 그리고 반음진행이 돋보이는 Surf Guitar의 표현이 들어가면서 Grotesque한 분위기를 연출하기도 한다. 하지만 Hook에서는 섹션감있는 신스와 스트링을 중심으로 신나는 Funky Disco로 탈바꿈하기도 하고, 랩 파트에서는 랩퍼들의 역량을 돋보이게 하는 Trap 비트에 Sitar의 조합으로 다양한 음악적 시도와 표현을 하였다. 이 노래를 통해서 일급비밀이 가지고 있는 다양한 끼와 음악적인 표현능력을 보여주는 기회가 되었으면 한다.

4. 하루 열댓번 (UP&DOWN)
‘좋은 사랑,’ ‘나쁜 사랑’ 이렇게 깨끗이 단정할 수 있는 건 진짜 사랑이 아니라는 말이 있다. 일년도 아니고, 한 달도 아니고, 고작 하루 중에도 한 사람 때문에 왔다 갔다 정신 없는 ‘나’지만, 하나 분명한 건 그 하루를 빼곡히 채운 건 나를 아프게도 하고 즐겁게도 하는 그 사람이라는 사실이다. 그리고 노래하는 ‘나’는 그 사실을 꽤 기쁘고 소중하게 생각한다. 통통 튀는 신디사이저가 켜켜이 쌓여 만들어내는 사운드와 자연스럽게 섞이는 일급비밀의 보컬, 랩이 매력적인 곡
