Harmonist Jongseong Park, who has constantly challenged himself to let the world know the great emotion that the small instrument called harmonica can bring, is releasing his fifth solo album, <Harmonica Rhapsody>.
This album is an original project featuring harmonica and a string chamber orchestra, presenting new possibilities for the harmonica through a combination of original compositions for harmonica and orchestra, carefully arranged works, and newly created pieces that will be premiered worldwide.

For this album, Park Jong-seong took on the role of conductor, composer, and arranger, going beyond mere performer, spearheading the entire project. He stated, "I did my best to meticulously analyze the music from the perspectives of a performer, composer, and conductor, and interpret it with my own unique style." He recorded all the songs from memory, maximizing the perfection of his performances.

<Harmonica Rhapsody> unfolds the limitless possibilities of the harmonica through three musical endeavors. First, through new compositions for harmonica and orchestra, it transcends the boundaries of a solo instrument and depicts a profoundly artistic world. Furthermore, by meticulously reproducing classic masterpieces that meticulously capture the harmonica's timbre, the artist captures the fluidity of its melodies even within the rich textures of the orchestra. Furthermore, by maximizing the harmonica's delicacy and expressiveness in diverse ensemble configurations, it achieves the grand resonance and emotion that blossoms from a small instrument.

Transcending the limitations of the harmonica, this album takes Park Jong-seong to the center of the classical music scene, embodying his musical exploration and philosophy. Beyond "firsts," harmonist Park Jong-seong pioneers a "new path," and his "Harmonica Rhapsody" promises to deliver the profound emotion conveyed by the small instrument.

This time, I worked hard to find ideas within the piece, find a foundation from that work, and then sublimate them into harmonica performance. 하모니카라는 작은 악기가 선사하는 거대한 감동을 세상에 알리기 위해 끊임없이 도전해온 하모니시스트 박종성이 다섯 번째 솔로 앨범 <하모니카 랩소디>를 발매한다.
이번 앨범은 하모니카와 스트링 체임버 오케스트라가 함께하는 독창적 프로젝트로, 하모니카와 오케스트라를 위해 작곡된 오리지널 곡들과 엄선된 편곡 작품, 그리고 새롭게 창작되어 세계 초연될 곡까지 아우르며 하모니카의 새로운 가능성을 제시한다.

박종성은 이번 앨범에서 단순한 연주자를 넘어 지휘자이자 작편곡자로 참여하며, 프로젝트 전반을 진두지휘했다. 그는 “음악을 연주자적인 관점과 작곡가적인 관점, 또 지휘자적인 관점에서 세밀하게 분석하고 저만의 색깔로 해석하는 데에 최선을 다했다."고 밝히며, 모든 곡을 암보 연주로 녹음해 연주의 완성도를 극대화했다.
