Extreme idol group Gugudan is back with a new look they haven't shown before with their 2nd single [Act.4 Cait Sith].
Gugudan, which presents each album with its own reinterpretation regardless of genre, such as fairy tales, movie masterpieces, and the work selected this time is the French fairy tale 'Puss in Boots'.
The character 'Puss in Boots', created with the motif of the legendary cat fairy 'Cait Sith', is a work in which a cat plays an active role and makes a poor owner rich. With the motif of existence, in this album, gugudan melted with confident and powerful lyrics and powerful choreography with the intention of becoming a helper to the public and giving a turning point to the public's life.
The title song 'The Boots' of [Act.4 Cait Sith] is a song that shows the cool singing ability of the members, and through this song, it shows a completely different group dance from the existing gugudan. It is completed with a song that maximizes the lyrics and performance of the song with a story, showing a confident and powerful image that is completely different from the existing gugudan image.
The music video also shows a different side from the existing gugudan. The visual impact was heightened through linear and intense sets, compositions, and colors. 극단돌 구구단이 2nd 싱글 [Act.4 Cait Sith]로 기존에 보여주지 않았던 새로운 모습으로 돌아왔다.
동화 영화 명작 등 장르 구분없이 구구단만의 재해석으로 매 앨범을 선보이는 구구단이 이번에 선택한 작품은 바로 프랑스 동화 ‘장화 신은 고양이’이다.
전설 속에서 내려오는 고양이 요정 ‘Cait Sith’를 모티브로 만들어진 캐릭터 ‘장화 신은 고양이’는 작품 속에서 고양이가 활약상을 펼치며 가난뱅이 주인을 부자로 만들어 준 작품으로, 작품 속 ‘고양이’의 당당하고 주체적인 존재 모습을 모티브로 하여 이번 앨범에서는 구구단이 대중들에게 조력자가 되어 대중들의 삶에 Turning point를 주고자 하는 뜻으로 당당하고 힘 있는 가사와 파워풀한 안무로 녹여냈다.
[Act.4 Cait Sith]의 타이틀곡 ‘The Boots’는 멤버들의 시원한 가창력을 확인할 수 있는 곡이며, 또한 이 곡을 통해 기존의 구구단의 모습과는 완전히 다른 칼군무를 보여주고 있다. 이야기가 담긴 노래 가사와 퍼포먼스를 극대화 하는 곡으로 완성되어 기존의 구구단 모습과는 완전히 다른 당당하고 파워풀한 모습을 보여준다.
뮤직비디오에서도 기존 구구단의 모습과는 한층 다른 모습을 보여주고 있다. 직선적이고 강렬한 세트와 구도, 색감을 통해 시각적인 임팩트를 높였다. 그리고 기존 걸그룹 뮤직비디오에서 볼 수 없었던 강렬한 LED와 평면촬영을 활용한 합성 기법을 도입하였다. 구구단으로는 물론 개개인의 매력을 보여줄 수 있도록 상징적인 유닛 씬을 통해 스토리를 담았으며, 수트를 입은 구구단의 강렬한 모습과 함께, 뮤직비디오에서만 볼 수 있는 걸크러쉬 버전의 강렬하고 파워풀한 댄스 브레이크까지 함께 보여주며 완성도를 높였다.
작품 ‘장화 신은 고양이’의 주인공 고양이가 작품속에서 활약을 펼쳐가는 것처럼, 구구단 또한 이번 노래와 무대를 통해 큰 활약을 펼쳐 나가는 앨범이 될 것이다.
