Drug Restaurant
We hope that our music will be 'healing' and 'escape' for those who are tired of society.
For a more pleasant prescription than a drug from a pharmacy.
And for the whole band, not just one frontman-centric team.
The name of the band was changed from Jung Joon-young's band to 'Drug Restaurant'.

If Jung Joon-young's band's 1st album 'Deviation and Reflection', released last year, had a thick hard rock element, this first single album released as a Drug Restaurant further emphasized the synth element based on the same garage sound. By adding a more sophisticated and sharp electronic sound, we tried to make it more exciting and easier to reach the public, and all members directly participated in writing, composing, and performing, telling the members' stories in various ways.

2. Mistake

The title song of this single album, “Mistake,” is a melodically attractive song with fast tempo and rough repetition of guitar riffs.

It seems that all people of today's society are living a life in which both the new and old generations are confined. And even within it, they dream of rest, travel, and leisure, but they live as if they are being chased. The reality is that young people who are just taking their first steps in society in an unfavorable reality and tough society have no choice but to live a life where mistakes are repeated while remaining immature.

In order not to make the mistake of living in a life that has no room for choice and is stuffy, 'Mistake' contains the wish that young people who yearn for freedom can enjoy the life time they want.

3. Sexy Bomb

“Sexy Bomb,” with an easy-to-listen, upbeat guitar riff at its core, is a song that introduces many new attempts that have not been seen in the existing 'Jung Joon-young Band' songs by adding synth elements, and the repetitive chorus is impressive.

“What?!” is a song where the restrained and unique 'unison riff' of the guitar and bass calmly leads the song until the chorus and then explodes. I was inspired by seeing and hearing the pretentious looks of people laughing in front of me and swearing behind me. The lyrics contain the feelings and thoughts felt while being hurt by the prickly words and gazes of others.

“When The Money’s Back”, which leads the song with an intense guitar riff based on a splendid rhythm that constantly swirls, tried to preserve the original “raw” sound of the band as much as possible. It is a content that laments the reality of living in pursuit of money but not being able to get out of a life like a 'gutter'.

우리의 음악이 사회에 찌든 사람들을 위한 '치유'와 '탈출'이 되길 바라며.
약국의 약보다 더 쾌적한 처방을 위해.
그리고 단 한 사람, 프론트맨 중심의 팀이 아닌 밴드 전체를 위해
정준영 밴드에서 'Drug Restaurant(드럭 레스토랑)'로 밴드명을 변경했다.

지난해 발매한 정준영 밴드 1집 ‘일탈다반사’는 두터운 하드록적인 요소가 있었다면, Drug Restaurant로서 발매하는 이번 첫 싱글 앨범은 동일한 개러지 사운드를 기반으로 신스적인 요소를 더욱 부각시켰다. 보다 세련되고 날카로운 일렉트로닉 사운드를 넣음으로써 더욱 신나고 쉽게 대중들에게 다가갈 수 있도록 노력했으며, 전 멤버가 직접 작사, 작곡, 연주에 참여하며 멤버들의 이야기를 다양하게 풀어냈다.

이번 싱글 앨범의 타이틀곡인 “Mistake”는 빠른 템포와 거친 기타 리프의 반복을 통한 멜로디컬함이 매력적인 곡이며, 클라이막스에 폭발하는 기타 연주에서는 생동감 넘치는 멤버들의 호흡과 파워풀한 사운드가 돋보이는 곡이다.

현재의 모든 사회인들은 신(新)ㆍ구(舊) 기성세대 모두가 갇혀있는 삶을 살아가고 있는 듯하다. 그리고 그 안에서라도 휴식, 여행, 여유를 꿈꾸지만 어쩔 수 없이 쫓기듯 살아가고 있다. 녹록지 않은 현실과 각박한 사회의 구성 안에서 막 사회에 첫발을 내딛는 청춘들은 미성숙한 상태로 머물며 실수가 반복되는 삶을 살아갈 수밖에 없는 것이 현실이다.

어쩔 수 없이 선택한 여유 없고 답답한 삶 속에서 지내는 실수를 다시 범하지 않기 위해, 자유를 동경하는 청춘들이 원하는 라이프타임을 누릴 수 있었으면 하는 마음을 ‘Mistake’에 담았다.

귀에 쉽게 들어오는 경쾌한 기타 리프가 핵심인 “Sexy Bomb”은 신스적인 요소를 가미함으로써 기존의 '정준영 밴드' 곡들에서는 볼 수 없었던 새로운 시도를 많이 선보인 곡으로, 반복되는 후렴구가 인상적인 곡이다.

“What?!” 은 기타와 베이스의 절제된 독특한 '유니즌 리프'가 후렴 전까지 곡을 담담하게 이끌고 가다가 폭발시키는 곡으로 떼창 요소를 넣음으로써 스케일을 더욱 넓히며 다이나믹한 곡으로 완성시켰다. 앞에선 웃으면서 뒤에서 욕을 하는 사람들의 가식적인 모습을 보고 들으면서 영감을 받았다. 가시돋힌 타인의 말과 시선에 상처를 받으면서 느낀 감정과 생각들을 가사에 담았다.

쉴 새 없이 휘몰아치는 화려한 리듬을 바탕으로 강렬한 기타 리프를 얹어 곡을 끌고 가는 “When The Money's Back”은 최대한 밴드가 가진 본래의 "날 것"의 사운드를 살리려 노력했다. 돈을 좇아 아등바등 살아가지만 '시궁창' 같은 삶에서 헤어 나오지 못하는 현실을 한탄하는 내용으로 요즘 이슈가 되고 있는 "금수저"에 영감을 받아 솔직하면서도 해학적인 가사로 풀어내었다.
