The original soundtrack (OST) for 'The Man Who Lives with the King' (Director: Jang Hang-jun / Cast: Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do, Kim Min, Park Ji-hwan, Lee Joon-hyuk, Ahn Jae-hong) will be released on analog LP. Set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, the film tells the story of a village chief who volunteered for exile to revive the village, and a young former king who was driven from the throne and exiled. The movie is garnering attention for delivering deep emotion and a lasting impression through the combination of the actors' intense performances and restrained melodies.
Dalparan, who has established an unrivaled sound aesthetic in Korean film music, participated in this soundtrack. Harmonizing Western string instruments with Korean traditional strings and percussion, he completed a unique sound where tradition and modernity coexist. By beautifully and delicately capturing the sentiments and lingering resonance of the time spent together by King Danjong and the people of Gwangcheongol Village, he further amplified the emotional impact of the film. This LP conveys the film's emotions and lingering resonance even more vividly through the warm texture characteristic of analog. Additionally, the track "Friend" (Lyrics by Yoon Jong-shin, Music by Dalparan), featuring narration by actor Park Ji-hoon (playing the role of Lee Hong-wi) and vocals by actress Jeon Mi-do (playing the role of Mae-hwa), is included to further deepen the wistful and poignant emotional tone of the film. This LP, consisting of a gatefold jacket and a single LP containing a total of 24 tracks, holds high collectible value as it was produced as a picture disc utilizing the 'Woljungdo' painting—which captures the actual scenery of Danjongbaeji Cheongnyeongpo, housed in the Jangseogak Collection of the Academy of Korean Studies. In addition, the completeness of the set has been enhanced by the inclusion of various inserts, such as a booklet featuring unreleased stills, a poster, and signed photo cards. The 'The Man Living with the King OST' LP production was planned and produced by Mu Seon-ji, and will be produced in Germany after undergoing remastering and vinyl cutting at Abbey Road Studios in the UK.
