You know I'm going to cry whether I win or lose.Sometimes—no, honestly, often—I get discouraged. Because of the versions of myself I failed to become, and because of the brilliance of the things I don't have. Just earlier, I felt a bit sad while watching the reels featuring Wet Leg. I try my best every day in my own way. But time is always lurking behind my back, slamming shut the doors of possibility.
I have been thinking about the attributes of fire and flowers. They share the common traits of being dazzling, intangible, and vanishing before long. In a sense, there is no such thing as a spectacular finale in life. Only decay awaits us. I often package my struggle not to wither or fade away as "effort."
Still, isn't it wonderful that there are moments that shine brightly despite everything? Tell the future to go away. I have been running toward this moment. Because my entire past is cheering for the me of today.
Everyone is bound to reach a moment in life when they must throw a killer flaming shot. For me, that moment is now.
This album is a fiery shot I throw. Go ahead and try to catch it.

"지든 이기든 울 거라는 거, 너 알지"가끔은, 아니 솔직히 자주 낙담합니다. 내가 되지 못한 버전의 나 때문에, 내가 갖지 못한 것들의 영롱함 때문에. 아까도 Wet Leg가 나오는 릴스를 보다가 약간 슬퍼졌습니다. 나름대로 매일 노력합니다. 하지만 시간은 언제나 등 뒤에 도사리고 있습니다. 가능성의 문을 쾅쾅 닫아버리면서요.
불과 꽃이 가진 속성에 대해 생각해 보았습니다. 눈부시고, 쥘 수 없고, 얼마지 않아 사라져 버린다는 공통점을요. 어떤 의미에서 삶에 화려한 피날레라는 건 없습니다. 쇠락만이 우리를 기다립니다. 시들거나 꺼지지 않으려고 발버둥친 일을 저는 노력이라는 말로 포장하곤 합니다.
그래도, 그럼에도 불구하고 반짝 빛나는 순간이 있다는 건 멋지지 않나요? 미래 따위 꺼지라고 해. 나는 이 순간을 위해 달려온 거니까. 나의 모든 과거가 지금의 나를 응원하고 있으니까.
