This album is one of two I ordered at the same time. Of the two, this one is slightly ahead in my 'meltdown' rating book, no doubt due to the silky presentation of the following songs:
The song '쉬어요' is great to sing along with (if you speak Korean). It has a relaxed and somewhat unusual melody laid out in a blues setting. You get so caught up in it, you hate for it end. Fortunately, consolation was provided - the song finishes with a great bluesy guitar solo, longer than you would expect for an ending, and thoroughly enjoyable. This one got added to my Favorites list first!.
One of Sung Si-kyung's most popular songs, '두 사람', can be found in this album.
'일학년 일반' is a song with toned down 'rap' featuring guest artist Kim Jin Pyo and is surprisingly welcome, even to this conservative listener. I have to admit, it was fascinating to hear rap in Korean, when I only speak English. Spoiler: It may not please hard-core rap fans.
An interesting song with a nice rhythm is "잊혀지는 것들에 대하여". Like many of his songs, it begins very softly, but quickly builds. The melody, and the lyrics seem to form one long sentence, every line connected with hardly a break. It's a challenge for hum-alongers, like me!
The album I received was packaged with lyrics to all the songs, photos of Sung Si Kyung, and other stuff I don't know. I'm unable to read any of it, not because it's in Korean, but because it's small and annoyingly light. My eyes can't handle it. But all the music is super! Anyone who likes Sung Si-kyung should have this album. Listening to his music on an internet streaming site is fine, but there's nothing like having the album in your hot little hands!
