The Distracted Gaze team originally started out as a documentary production team.
With the theme of “being as big as a mountain, yet being distracted and careless”
I wanted to create a video of our two distracted and poor gazes.
It was a formed group,
Starting the project
"Should we start by making the music that will go into the video?"
The sentences I wrote piled up and piled up and became a song

Distracted Gaze [Distracted Gaze]
There's a "joy of discovery." It's a delightful "musical moment" you can experience while listening to music. The thrill of "discovering" the music of "Distracted Gaze" still lingers to this day. The knowledge that my joy wasn't fleeting brings me another kind of joy. I'm certain that Distracted Gaze's music is special, and that it will remain with me for a long time.
From the moment I first heard "It Would Be Pretty If It Became a Song," this conviction grew within me. They sang that their poverty, their pain, would be pretty if they could be turned into song. How beautiful and special is this imagination? "It Would Be Pretty If It Became a Song" is a song that perfectly exemplifies the music of Scattered Eyes. Their songs all embody this special imagination and this poverty-filled fullness.
The beginning of Scattered Gaze began with documentary work. Named after the ambiguous meaning of "scattered" (山) and "distracted," their gaze has consistently focused on the poor and the heartbreaking. They chose sentences and composed melodies with the intention of creating music for their documentary films. Their daily experiences became songs. They crafted their scattered and impoverished thoughts with a timid yet honest approach.
Distracted and impoverished thoughts are also observations. They paid close attention to the trivial, easily overlooked details, and gazed intently. The resulting sentences were thoughtful and special. While not a single word or expression was difficult, these commonplace words created a lofty and lonely landscape of song. The space between notes and words belonged solely to the distracted gaze.
Seorim and Song Jae-won sing "Apart and Together." Sometimes they sing alone, sometimes they add their voices to each other's. Their voices mirror the song's delicate sentiment. While they may sound somewhat awkward and raspy, their simplicity and innocence offer a uniquely moving touch. These voices, rather than simply being lyrical, deepen the music's sense of coolness and distracting gaze.
All five songs flow with a consistent flow, without significant ups and downs. They use language that slowly, melodically, and with long, flowing breaths. Following these melodies and language, the song's landscape naturally unfolds. This landscape is mostly created with acoustic guitar and vocals, but occasionally evokes the mood with flute or oboe. The final song, "Seongdoo Villa," leaves a lasting impression with a grand scale unlike any other.
I listen to their music over and over again. I continue to savor the joy of discovery. The excitement I felt when I first heard their music has only grown. As I explore the diverse emotions contained in their songs, my own emotions have broadened and deepened. I'm glad those feelings, those emotions, have become songs. I'm glad I can listen to these songs.
I would be happier if this song of the heart could reach many people.

"일단 영상에 들어갈 음악부터 만들어놓고 시작할까?"
했던 문장이 쌓이고 쌓이더니 노래가 되었고
그런 산만한 행동들이 어쩌다보니 지금의 산만한시선이 되었습니다.

'발견의 기쁨'이 있다. 음악을 들으면서 경험할 수 있는 기분 좋은 '음악의 순간'이다. '산만한시선'의 음악을 '발견'했을 때의 감흥은 지금까지도 지속되고 있다. 그때 나의 기쁨이 잠깐의 감정이 아니란 사실에 또 다른 기쁨을 느낀다. 산만한 시선의 음악이 특별하고, 이 음악을 오래도록 곁에 둘 거란 확신이 나에겐 있다.
'노래가 되면 예쁠 거야'를 처음 들었던 순간부터 이 확신은 생겼다. 이들은 자신들의 가난이, 자신들의 아픔이 노래가 될 수 있다면 예쁠 거라고 노래했다. 이런 상상은 얼마나 예쁘고 특별한가. '노래가 되면 예쁠 거야'는 산만한시선의 음악을 잘 설명해주는 노래다. 이들의 노래에는 모두 이런 특별한 상상과 가난한 충만이 있다.
산만한시선의 시작에는 다큐멘터리 작업이 있었다. 산(山)만하고, 산만(散漫)한 중의적 의미를 담아 이름을 지은 이들의 시선은 줄곧 가난하고 애틋한 것에 가 닿았다. 다큐멘터리 영상의 음악부터 만들자는 생각으로 문장을 고르고 선율을 만들었다. 자신들의 일상에서 얻은 경험은 곧 노래가 됐다. 산만하고 가난한 생각을 소심하되 솔직하게 만들었다.
산만하고 가난한 생각은 곧 관찰이기도 하다. 이들은 쉽게 지나칠 수 있는 사소한 것들에 마음을 쓰고 오래 들여다봤다. 그렇게 나온 문장은 사려 깊고 특별했다. 무엇 하나 어려운 낱말과 표현은 없었지만, 그 흔한 낱말들로 높고 쓸쓸한 노래의 풍경을 연출했다. 음과 음 사이, 낱말과 낱말 사이의 여백은 산만한 시선만의 것이었다.
서림과 송재원 두 멤버는 '따로 또 같이' 노래한다. 혼자 노래하기도 하고, 서로 목소리를 보태기도 한다. 이들의 목소리는 곡의 여린 정서와 닮아 있다. 다소 서툴고 성기게도 들리지만 소박함과 풋풋함이 줄 수 있는 또 다른 감동이 있다. 이 목소리는 오히려 단순히 서정적이라고만 말하기 어려운, 서늘함이 공존하는 산만한 시선의 음악을 더 깊게 만든다.
다섯 곡의 노래 모두 일관된 흐름 속에서 큰 고저 없이 흐른다. 긴 호흡으로 느릿하게 선율을 입힌 언어를 꺼낸다. 그 선율과 언어를 따라가다 보면 자연스레 노래의 풍경이 그려진다. 그 풍경은 대부분 어쿠스틱 기타와 목소리로 연출하지만 때로 플루트나 오보에로 환기하고, 마지막 곡 '성두빌라'에서 기존과는 다른 큰 스케일로 여운을 남기는 구성은 인상적이다.
반복해 음악을 듣는다. 발견의 기쁨을 계속해서 곱씹는다. 처음 이들의 음악을 들으며 느꼈던 감흥의 크기는 더 커졌다. 이들의 노래 안에 담긴 다양한 감정을 살피며 나의 감정 역시 더 넓고 높아졌다. 그 마음들이, 그 감정들이 노래가 돼 기쁘다. 내가 이 노래들을 들을 수 있어서 기쁘다.
이 마음의 노래가 많은 이에게 다가갈 수 있다면 더 기쁠 것이다.

2) 재생 음역의 왜곡을 최소화하고 반복 재생 시에도 최대한 일관되게 유지되도록 디스크 센터 홀 구경이 작게 제작되는 경우가 있습니다. 턴테이블 스핀들에 맞지 않는 경우에는 전용 제품 등을 이용하여 센터 홀을 조정하시면 해결됩니다.
3) 간혹 디스크에 미세한 잔흠집이 남아있거나 마감이 깨끗하지 않은 경우가 있습니다. 재생에 이상이 있는 경우에만 반품이나 교환이 가능합니다.
※ 컬러 디스크
1) 컬러 디스크는 웹 이미지와 실제 색상이 차이가 날 수 있습니다.
2) 컬러 디스크의 특성상 제작 공정 시 앨범마다 색상 차이가 나는 경우도 있습니다.
3) 컬러 디스크는 제작 과정에서 발생한 작은 점이나 다른 색상 염료가 섞여 들어갈 수 있습니다.

1) 명백한 불량으로 인한 교환/반품 요청 시에는 불량 내역을 확인할 수 있는 사진 및 동영상과 재생기기 모델명을 첨부하여 고객센터에 문의 바랍니다.
2) LP는 잦은 배송 과정에서 재킷에 손상이 발생할 가능성이 높고 재판매가 어려우므로 오구매, 변심으로 인한 반품은 어렵습니다. 신중한 구매를 부탁드립니다.
