Too heavy to laugh off, too funny to take seriously—the diaries of the youth of this eraMooi’s first album, Korean Dystopia, created by members of diverse ages, genders, and political leanings, vividly portrays events likely to be experienced by ordinary Korean youths from various perspectives.
The album honestly sings about everything from social themes—such as heinous crimes, the madness of gambling and war, disability issues, and generational conflict—to personal stories like dating, breakups, the emptiness of fleeting encounters, alcohol, and regret. As he experiences these events, the narrator develops his own unique perspective on the world, which is revealed within the album through uncensored expression. The Korea viewed in this way is a dystopia to him.
These messy stories are expressed in various ways, grounded in post-punk and garage rock, layered with the rage of punk and the dreamy texture of shoegaze. I conclude this introduction hoping you do not listen to it too seriously or too lightly.

앨범은 흉악 범죄, 투기판과 전쟁의 광기, 장애인 문제와 세대 갈등 같은 사회적 주제부터 연애와 이별, 짧은 만남의 공허함, 술과 후회 같은 개인적인 이야기까지 솔직하게 노래한다. 화자는 이러한 사건들을 겪으며 세상을 바라보는 나름의 시선을 만들어가고, 그것은 앨범 안에서 자기검열 없는 표현으로 드러난다. 그렇게 바라본 한국은 그에게 디스토피아다.
이 구질구질한 이야기들은 포스트펑크와 개러지 록을 바탕으로, 펑크의 분노와 슈게이징의 몽환적인 질감을 얹어 다양하게 표현됐다. 너무 진지하게도, 너무 가볍게도 듣지 않기를 바라며 소개글을 마친다.
