First full album [LaKiLu] released!

Latin Kitchen Luna, formed around bandoneonist Koh Sang-ji and jazz pianist Choi Moon-seok, presents a contemporary interpretation of music from across Latin America, including Mexico, Brazil, and Cuba. Their first full-length album features a total of nine tracks, including their previous singles "March Night," "Over the Rainbow," "Violet Beach," "Thanatos - If I Can't Be Yours," and "Black Orpheus."

The title song, 'March Night', is a track from their debut single [Chef Gato] released in March 2025. It is a representative song of Latin Kitchen Luna with a lyrical melody and a cheerful Afro-Cuban rumba rhythm. The sixth track, 'Thanatos - If I Can't Be Yours', is a samba-style reinterpretation of the OST of the Japanese animation <Neon Genesis Evangelion>. The original singer, Sagisu Shiro, garnered attention by directly praising Go Sang-ji and Choi Moon-seok on SNS, saying, "Amazing performance skills."

In addition to the existing singles, this full-length album contains four new songs. Among them, the eighth track, 'Mission Impossible (feat. Danny Koo)', is a song rearranged with Latin Kitchen Luna's unique color based on the main theme song of the globally beloved film <Mission Impossible>. The song was completed with an even richer sound with the participation of violinist Danny Koo, who is active across genres.

Choi Moon-seok describes Latin Kitchen Luna as “a team like a small kitchen where each person cooks their favorite ingredients in their own way to add new flavors rather than just reproducing the original,” and said of this album, “It’s a work that was created by taking out and writing down one by one the conversations (with Go Sang-ji) that I’ve been collecting.”

반도네오니스트 고상지와 재즈 피아니스트 최문석을 중심으로 결성된 라틴 키친 루나는 멕시코, 브라질, 쿠바 등 라틴아메리카 전역의 음악을 현대적으로 재해석해 선보이는 팀이다. 이번 정규 1집에는 기존 싱글 '3월의 밤', 'Over The Rainbow', '주홍해변', 'Thanatos - If I Can't Be Yours', 'Black Orpheus'를 포함해 총 9곡이 수록된다.

타이틀 곡인 '3월의 밤'은 2025년 3월 발매된 데뷔 싱글 [Chef Gato]의 수록곡으로, 서정적인 멜로디에 아프로큐반(Afro-Cuban)의 경쾌한 룸바(Rumba) 리듬이 더해진 라틴 키친 루나의 대표곡이다. 여섯 번째 트랙 'Thanatos - If I Can't Be Yours'는 일본 애니메이션 <신세기 에반게리온> OST를 삼바 스타일로 재해석한 곡으로, 원곡자 사기스 시로(Sagisu Shiro)가 SNS를 통해 “놀라운 연주 실력”이라며 고상지와 최문석에게 직접 찬사를 보내 화제를 모으기도 했다.

이번 정규 앨범에는 기존 싱글 외에도 새롭게 선보이는 네 곡이 추가로 담겼다. 그중 여덟 번째 트랙 'Mission Impossible (feat. Danny Koo)'은 전 세계적으로 사랑받는 영화 <미션 임파서블>의 메인 테마곡을 라틴 키친 루나 특유의 색채로 편곡한 곡으로, 장르를 넘나들며 활동하는 바이올리니스트 대니 구가 참여해 더욱 풍성한 사운드를 완성했다.

최문석은 “정통을 그대로 재현하기보다는 각자 좋아하는 재료를 각자의 방식으로 조리해 새로운 향을 더하는 작은 부엌 같은 팀”이라고 라틴 키친 루나를 설명하며, 이번 앨범에 대해 “그동안 모으고 모아왔던 (고상지와의) 대화들을 하나씩 꺼내 적어 나가듯 만들어진 작업”이라 말했다.
