The story of ‘true freedom’ told through ‘X’
‘Perspective and ambivalence’ Double title song ‘Bad News’ and ‘Nobody Knows’
KISS OF LIFE, who swept various global charts upon debut last July and captivated the eyes and ears of fans around the world, showed amazing progress befitting the title of 'monster rookie'. It attracted attention by showing exceptional achievements, such as ranking first on Thailand's iTunes, topping charts around the world, entering Spotify's Viral 50 chart, and recording more than 30 million cumulative streams. The free and energetic attitude that only they can pull off, as well as the solid quality of music and content, surprised the public. In addition, the overwhelming vocal skills and hip performances shown through various contents and stages were enough to raise public expectations and interest in their future activities.
If the previous debut album talked about 'the process of gaining freedom by challenging limitations and trials', that is, 'freedom from the outside, free from external oppression', the second mini album talks about 'true freedom' through the keyword 'X'. KISS OF LIFE conveys the message that ‘freedom is freedom from within’ and tells it in its own way.
“I was born as
‘X’, as he calls himself in this album, is a story about ‘something special that is not welcome’. The appearance of those who resist the existing order, dislike being trapped in a framework, have no hesitation in expressing themselves, go beyond wanting freedom, and are close to rebellion and revolution can be seen as a dangerous appearance that can easily cause misunderstanding in others. Nevertheless, this album, which showcases aspects of '
“All preconceptions and prejudices, and
It talks about 'X', showing only what you want to see, seeing only what you want to see, and rejecting all prejudices and prejudices. In exchange for convenience, we lose freedom of perception and thinking, and the countless amounts of information pouring in make us stop even thinking. I don't even know if what I'm seeing or what I'm thinking right now is completely mine. Is the problem of ‘showing only what you want to see’ or is the problem of ‘seeing only what you want to see’? Perhaps ‘rejecting all of this’ is the first step toward true freedom?’ Let me start by saying,
“We know the truth, no one knows this”
'Bad News', a song based on a strong guitar riff that stands out for the harmony of hip-hop and rock, and 'Nobody Knows', a soul/R&B song with an impressive sensuous beat, are two different songs with double titles, creating a unique and organic harmony. The lyrics, which sharply but humorously express the theme of 'two sides of perspective', which distinguishes between 'truth' and 'rumour', and the two music videos that produce them, provide the public with another hidden appreciation point.
[Born to be XX] consists of a total of 7 songs. In line with the expectations of a group that pursues original music and self-production, this album also contains many songs written and composed by artists. From 'Belle's self-composed song 'Says It', which contains the fresh feelings of first love, to 'My 808' and 'Bad News (ENG Ver.)', the members participate in the work to deliver complete music.
It is time to experience the new artificial respiration provided by KISS OF LIFE once again.
KISS OF LIFE 2nd Mini Album [Born to be XX] Track List
01. Bad News (Title)
Composed by Strawberrybananaclub, JONGHAN, Rick Bridges
Lyrics by Rick Bridges, JONGHAN, PAPRIKAA, Strawberrybananaclub
Arranged by Strawberrybananaclub
The title song 'Bad News' is a song that stands out for its combination of strong rock sound and heavy hip-hop rhythm. The guitar riff, which is repeated from the beginning to the end, without hesitation shows off aspects of genre music that may feel unfamiliar, and the pre-chorus, which makes it impossible to predict what happens next, creates tension in the listeners and makes them hold their breath. The moment the chorus vocals finally speak, it announces the arrival of a game changer.
02. Nobody Knows (Title)
Composed by PAPRIKAA, Jeongwoo Lim, ADORA, VON MENTZER
Korean Lyrics by Jo Yoon-kyung, Julie, Rick Bridges
Arranged by PAPRIKAA
The double title song 'Nobody Knows' is an R&B song influenced by the classic mood of 1970s psychedelic and funk music and Philadelphia Soul. This song, with its languid but head-nodding rhythm and captivating bass/guitar performance that captivates your ears, is an original genre of music that requires a high level of difficulty in singing and understanding of the music, and KISS OF LIFE's musical aspirations and passion to challenge this are met. It will reach these listeners with another charm and new experience.
03. My 808
Composed by G'harah “PK” Degeddingseze, Tricia Battani, TMM
Lyrics by Mia (153Joombas), Rick Bridges, Hyeyum Lee (Jamfactory), Gemma, Belle, Natty
Arranged by G'harah “PK” Degeddingseze, Tricia Battani
'My 808' is a song in the Dance/R&B genre, and is a song that stands out for its voluptuous sensuality that compares the fascinating 'my bass (dance)' to the '808 sound' in the music. You can enjoy the song even more if you listen to it by focusing on the addictive hook and the individuality of the vocalists who digest the repetitive parts with their own charm and interpretation.
04.TTG
Composed by BYMORE, Ondine, ADORA, Rick Bridges
Lyrics by Ondine, Rick Bridges, BYMORE
Arranged by BYMORE
'TTG', a song in the R&B Dance Pop genre, is a song that stands out for its retro synth sound centered around an acoustic guitar and the Y2K tone and manner produced through this, and the groovy melody and harmonious vocal production are added to enhance the completeness. 'TTG' is an abbreviation for 'That That Girl', and is an R&B song with a feminine mood that tries to express the feel of the 2000s. It is a rare song that will once again show a different side of KISS OF LIFE.
05. Gentleman
Composed by Thomas Troelsen, Lindy Robbins, Gabe Saporta, Shy Carter
Lyrics by Jo Yoon-kyung
Arranged by Thomas Troelsen
'Gentleman', a song with Afro rhythm and reggae patterns, is a song that shows a unique charm by combining a pop genre verse centered on the 808 bass and a chorus with soul gospel. The part led by a solo vocalist, and the gospel chorus that contrasts with this, is a song with a unique aspect that allows you to feel KISS OF LIFE's musical capabilities and confidence at the same time.
06. Say It
Composed by clovd(WSHL:ST), Deokgeun Kwon(WSHL:ST), Young Chance, Belle, Eunsol
Lyrics by Belle, Rick Bridges
Arranged by clovd(WSHL:ST), Deokgeun Kwon(WSHL:ST)
It's a song that captures the fresh feeling of first love. I wanted to capture an unfamiliar feeling that I felt for the first time, but one that was also reckless.
“The feeling of color being added to my seemingly black and white life, the feeling of sitting there for hours on a cool summer night without knowing how much time had passed, even when I was bitten by mosquitoes, let’s call these strange feelings ‘love.’ And let’s stop wasting time and pour our all into love.”
Commentary by BELLE
07. Bad News (Eng Ver.)
Composed by Strawberrybananaclub, JONGHAN, Rick Bridges
Lyrics by Julie, Rick Bridges, JONGHAN, PAPRIKAA, Strawberrybananaclub
Arranged by Strawberrybananaclub
'Bad News (Eng ver.)', which features a more powerful guitar riff and allows you to feel the energy of the performers more closely, is the final song and bonus track of the album. The original version will be like a surprise gift to listeners, with a rough and vivid sound that feels like watching a stage.
Bad News', 'Nobody Knows'
“We know the truth 이건 아무도 몰라“
[Born to be XX]는 총 7개의 수록곡으로 구성되어 있다. 풋풋한 첫 사랑의 감정을 담은 '벨'의 자작곡 'Says It'부터 'My 808', 'Bad News (ENG Ver.)'
KISS OF LIFE 2nd Mini Album [Born to be XX] Track List
01. Bad News (Title)
Composed by Strawberrybananaclub, 종한 (JONGHAN), Rick Bridges
Lyrics by Rick Bridges, 종한 (JONGHAN), PAPRIKAA, Strawberrybananaclub
Arranged by Strawberrybananaclub
02. Nobody Knows (Title)
Composed by PAPRIKAA, 임정우, ADORA, VON MENTZER
Korean Lyrics by 조윤경, Julie, Rick Bridges
Arranged by PAPRIKAA
03. My 808
Composed by G'harah “PK” Degeddingseze, Tricia Battani, TMM
Lyrics by 미아(153Joombas), Rick Bridges, 이혜윰(Jamfactory), Gemma, Belle, Natty
Arranged by G'harah “PK” Degeddingseze, Tricia Battani
04. TTG
Composed by BYMORE, Ondine, ADORA, Rick Bridges
Lyrics by Ondine, Rick Bridges, BYMORE
Arranged by BYMORE
'TTG'는 'That That Girl'의 약자로, 2000년대의 느낌을 표현하고자 한 페미닌한 무드의 R&B 곡으로서 KISS OF LIFE의 색다른 모습을 또 한번 보여줄 희소성 있는 곡이다.
05. Gentleman
Composed by Thomas Troelsen, Lindy Robbins, Gabe Saporta, Shy Carter
Lyrics by 조윤경
Arranged by Thomas Troelsen
06. Says It
Composed by clovd(WSHL:ST), 권덕근(WSHL:ST), Young Chance, Belle, Eunsol
Lyrics by Belle, Rick Bridges
Arranged by clovd(WSHL:ST), 권덕근(WSHL:ST)
Commentary by BELLE
07. Bad News (Eng Ver.)
Composed by Strawberrybananaclub, 종한 (JONGHAN), Rick Bridges
Lyrics by Julie, Rick Bridges, 종한 (JONGHAN), PAPRIKAA, Strawberrybananaclub
Arranged by Strawberrybananaclub

Description (Original):
Bad News', 'Nobody Knows'
“We know the truth 이건 아무도 몰라“
[Born to be XX]는 총 7개의 수록곡으로 구성되어 있다. 풋풋한 첫 사랑의 감정을 담은 '벨'의 자작곡 'Says It'부터 'My 808', 'Bad News (ENG Ver.)'

Korean Lyrics by 조윤경, Julie, Rick Bridges
Arranged by PAPRIKAA
03. My 808
Composed by G'harah “PK” Degeddingseze, Tricia Battani, TMM
Lyrics by 미아(153Joombas), Rick Bridges, 이혜윰(Jamfactory), Gemma, Belle, Natty
Arranged by G'harah “PK” Degeddingseze, Tricia Battani
04. TTG
Composed by BYMORE, Ondine, ADORA, Rick Bridges
Lyrics by Ondine, Rick Bridges, BYMORE
Arranged by BYMORE
'TTG'는 'That That Girl'의 약자로, 2000년대의 느낌을 표현하고자 한 페미닌한 무드의 R&B 곡으로서 KISS OF LIFE의 색다른 모습을 또 한번 보여줄 희소성 있는 곡이다.
05. Gentleman
Composed by Thomas Troelsen, Lindy Robbins, Gabe Saporta, Shy Carter
Lyrics by 조윤경
Arranged by Thomas Troelsen
06. Says It
Composed by clovd(WSHL:ST), 권덕근(WSHL:ST), Young Chance, Belle, Eunsol
Lyrics by Belle, Rick Bridges
Arranged by clovd(WSHL:ST), 권덕근(WSHL:ST)

07. Bad News (Eng Ver.)
Composed by Strawberrybananaclub, 종한 (JONGHAN), Rick Bridges
Lyrics by Julie, Rick Bridges, 종한 (JONGHAN), PAPRIKAA, Strawberrybananaclub
Arranged by Strawberrybananaclub
