Live Album [1202]: To My Happiness That Meets You

From a certain point on, when I was dealing with music, I was nervous and a bit overworked, thinking that this might be my last chance. I was anxious because I had too much happiness. I promised myself that if happiness left me, I would let it go without any regrets, but in fact, I didn't want it to leave me. I didn't want to look like a greedy person who wanted something I couldn't have, so I tried to stay aloof in both joy and misfortune. Unnoticed, happy moments continued to come.

They also released a live album in 2017. It was an album called [7102] that reversed the number 2017. Now that I think about it, it's a bit of a pity to release unreleased songs in a format that is not an official sound source, but I guess I was more bold in the past. Looking back at what I was worried about back then, it was no big deal, and I realized that what was trivial at the time is very valuable now, and the album continues to be completed even now. I feel like I can touch the me at that time, the people around me, the places I liked, and those memories, so I need to take a deep breath to listen to the live album. Maybe it's because I'm afraid to face a new three-dimensional feeling about the past. Like family albums and yearbooks, those photos are the same, but only I feel more affection for them.

Starting with the Kim Sa-Wol Show in 2021, I started arranging the composition and concept of the original song freely, and I was collecting the live performances of the year one by one with the thought that I wanted to archive these live performances. I had a strangely not very lonely year because of my fellow musicians in the Kim Sa-wol band. That's how December came, and the morning after the second day of the year-end concert was over, I kept crying. Can I be this happy again? The feelings I shared with the audience to my heart's content, I loved the day when I leaned heavily on the music of the performers, so I record the live performance of the year-end performance <It's too cold outside> as a live memory of my 21 years. I am sending this album in the hope that I will meet the happiness that greets me in the future who may still be doubting happiness. Happiness may be fleeting for a moment, but happiness belongs to those who feel it enough. I hope you don't miss the present moment while pretending to be detached then.

The many people involved and staff who worked hard for a beautiful performance, the guest musicians who appeared and the people who worked together on the live album, and the audience who gave warm eyes on a cold winter night. Thank you for willingly sharing your happiness with me.

라이브 앨범 [1202]: 마중 나와 있는 나의 행복에게

어느 시점부터 나는 음악을 대할 때 이번이 마지막 기회이지 않을까 긴장하고 약간 무리하고 있었다. 행복을 너무 많이 가져서 불안했다. 행복이 나를 떠나면 미련 없이 보내줘야 한다고 다짐했지만 실은 나를 떠나지 말았으면 했다. 가질 수 없는 걸 갖고 싶어 하는 욕심쟁이처럼 보이고 싶지 않아서 기쁨에도, 불행에도 초연해지려고 노력했다. 눈치도 없이 행복한 순간은 계속 찾아왔다.

2017년에도 라이브 앨범을 냈다. 숫자 2017을 뒤집은 [7102] 라는 앨범이었다. 지금 생각해보면 미발표곡들을 정식 음원이 아닌 형식으로 낸 것이 조금 아깝기도 한데 과거의 나는 더 대범했었나 보다. 그때 걱정했던 게 다시 보니 별거 아니었고, 당시 사소했던 게 지금은 무척 귀중한 것이라는 것을 알게 되며 앨범은 지금도 계속 완성되어간다. 그때의 나, 내 주변의 사람들, 좋아하던 공간들과 그 추억들이 만져질 듯이 느껴져서 라이브 앨범을 들으려면 마음의 심호흡이 필요하다. 과거에 대한 새로운 입체감을 마주하는 것이 겁이 나서 그런지도 모르겠다. 가족앨범, 졸업앨범처럼 그 사진들은 그대로인데 나만 더 애틋해지는 그런 거.

2021년도의 김사월 쇼를 기점으로 원곡의 구성과 컨셉을 자유롭게 변형하는 편곡 작업을 시작했고, 이 라이브 연주들을 아카이빙하고 싶다는 생각으로 한 해의 라이브 실황을 차곡차곡 모으고 있었다. 김사월 밴드의 연주자 동료들이 있어서 나는 희한하게도 별로 외롭지 않은 한 해를 보냈다. 그렇게 12월이 왔고 연말 콘서트 둘째 날을 신나게 마친 다음 날 아침 자꾸 눈물이 났다. 또 이렇게 행복할 수 있을까? 관객들과 마음껏 나누었던 감정들이, 연주자들의 음악에 풀썩 기대었던 그 날이 너무 좋아서 연말 공연 <밖은 너무 추워 나는>의 실황을 나의 21년을 기억하는 라이브로 기록한다. 여전히 행복을 의심하고 있을 미래의 나에게 마중 나와 있는 행복을 만나길 바라며 이 앨범을 보낸다. 기쁨이란 잠깐 스쳐 가는 것이겠지만 행복은 충분히 느끼는 자의 것이라는 걸. 그때는 초연한 척하면서 현재의 순간을 놓치지 않기를.
