“I Can See It Now”, which contains the sad longing and affection of father and mother, “Swallow” and “Big Tree”, children’s songs from the Sanulrim era, “Mother and Mackerel”, which was much loved, “Twelve-year-olds Live Twelve, Sixteen-year-olds Live Sixteen” by Kim Chang-wan Band, and “Baekilhong”, which contains deep insight into life, were reborn as songs with a simple arrangement and acoustic guitar.

In the summer of 2025, the song featured in Switzer's campaign ad, "Let's Go Home," became a hot topic, offering deep comfort to many. It was Kim Chang-wan's "On the Way Home." To young people, and to all of us, he has established himself as an "adult we all aspire to emulate." In the winter of 2025, he once again brings warm comfort to our difficult lives with "One Day," a song brimming with the master's mature charm.
“If you’re sick, you say you’re sick. Do you drag that body to work? / I pull up my baggy pants and walk on the dawn with my worn-out shoes. / The happy laughter of children playing brushes my ears. / Even if the wind blows and the clouds gather today, the sun will rise tomorrow. // If you’re tired, you say you’re tired. Do you go to work with that body? / My father’s sighs are on my shoulders, and my mother’s worries are in my pocket. / Rubbing my sleepy eyes, I look out the window and it’s full of sunlight. / I write about tomorrow in today’s diary, I write about hope.”
Each and every word of this tender, unforgettable song seems to soothe my parched heart. The easy, captivating melody, instantly etched in my ears and humming after just one listen, is beyond words. The gentle acoustic guitar, Kim Chang-wan's calm voice with its delicate trembling, the warm waltz rhythm that follows the faint trembling of cello and violin, the music evoked by a kazoo reminiscent of a child's laughter, and the soft keyboard and drums. "Haru" is the warm comfort I've felt for the first time in a long time.
Kim Chang-wan's new EP, "One Day," is an eight-song collection, including this beautiful new song, six songs from an LP planned and recorded earlier this year for his prose collection, "Now I Can See," and "I Wanted to Say This," re-recorded for his 2023 album, "I Am an Earthling." These songs, with their simple arrangements and acoustic guitar, convey the heartfelt emotions of the 71-year-old Kim Chang-wan, delivering a deeply moving and moving experience. This album includes "Now I Can See" which sings of the heart of a father that he came to know only after getting older, the sad longing for you who has left, and the longing for his mother, as well as the children's songs "Swallow" and "Big Tree" from the Sanulrim days sung softly and sadly in an old voice, the much-loved "Mother and Mackerel", Kim Chang-wan Band's "Twelve-Year-Olds Live Twelve, Sixteen-Year-Olds Live Sixteen", and "Baekilhong" which contains deep insight into life. 2025년 여름, 스위첸의 캠페인 광고 '집에 가자'에 흘렀던 노래가 많은 이들에게 깊은 위안을 건네며 화제가 되었다. 바로 김창완의 〈집에 가는 길〉이었다. 젊은이들에게, 우리 모두에게 '닮고 싶은 어른'으로 자리한 그가 2025년 겨울, 거장의 원숙한 매력으로 가득한 노래 〈하루〉와 함께 또 다시 우리의 힘겨운 삶에 따스한 위로를 전한다.
