Vocal Ensemble's 1st Full Album [Song of the Hall]

Around the 2000s, two brothers lived in a city in southern Gyeonggi Province. It was a time when children used to gather at apartment complex playgrounds to play with BB guns.

The two brothers' mother wanted her sons to grow up to be healthy and cultured people. Every morning, she woke the two brothers by playing classic masterpieces. The two brothers really hated the classical music that woke them up in the morning.

As the end of the year approached, Mother would invariably lead the two young brothers by the hand and head to the hall. At the hall, the familiar classical music we heard every morning was being played.

The two brothers fell asleep strangely.

The song of the hall is music I listened to in my dreams. This song, settled in the unconscious, has neither pitch nor rhythm. Only things like the road to the hall, my mother's hand held, the collars of the bustling crowd, the old and clean red chairs, the sound of magnificent applause, and the snowflakes fluttering as I left the hall remain in my consciousness.

2000년대 무렵, 경기도 남부의 한 도시에 두 형제가 살았습니다. 아이들이 아파트 단지 놀이터에 모여 BB탄 총을 갖고 놀던 시절이었습니다.

두 형제의 어머니는 아들들이 건강하고 교양 있는 사람으로 자라길 바랐습니다. 매일 아침 클래식 명반을 틀어 두 형제를 깨웠습니다. 두 형제는 아침을 깨우는 클래식 음악이 참 미웠습니다.

연말이 다가오면 어머니는 어김없이 어린 두 형제의 손을 이끌고 전당으로 향했습니다. 전당에서는 아침마다 듣던 익숙한 클래식 음악이 연주되었습니다.

두 형제는 이상하게도 잠이 들었습니다.

전당의 노래는 꿈을 꾸며 듣던 음악입니다. 무의식에 자리 잡은 이 노래에는 음정도 박자도 없습니다. 전당으로 가는 길, 붙잡은 어머니의 손, 북적거리는 사람들의 옷깃, 오래되고 깨끗한 붉은 의자, 웅장한 박수 소리, 전당을 나올 때 흩날리던 눈발 같은 것들만이 의식 속에 남아있습니다.

두 형제는 커서 교양 있는 사람이 되지는 못했지만 밴드를 결성했습니다. 각자의 이름을 따서 밴드 이름을 짓고, 각자의 노래를 만들어 함께 불렀습니다.

어쩌면, 두 형제의 노래는 전당에서 울려 퍼지던 노래일 것 입니다.
