Description (Translated):
Park Ji-hyung, *Roland Diance*10th anniversary of Roland Dyance's death
Looking back through the eyes of a guitarist
Musical Retrospective
Guitarist Park Ji-hyung is releasing a new album titled *Roland Dyens* to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of the great guitarist and composer Roland Dyens (Oct. 19, 1955 – Oct. 29, 2016, Tunisia-France).
Park Ji-hyung, who studied directly under Roland Diance at the Paris Conservatory, reinterprets his teacher's artistic world through his own unique perspective in this album. By including a balanced mix of original compositions and arrangements, he has captured the multi-dimensional artistic facets of Diance, who recreated musical elements from various genres into original guitar music.
The music of Diance, which Park Ji-hyung first encountered in his childhood, had a profound influence on his development as a guitarist. This album encapsulates memories of those days, his learning in Paris, and the experience he has accumulated as a performer since then. While re-recording works previously performed on stage, he also re-explores representative pieces that he had not previously performed, retracing his long-standing musical connection.
"Roland Diance" is a tribute to a great teacher and a special record completed by a guitarist who has grown up with his music, through his long-held memories and his own interpretation.
