James Records Compilation Fall
JAMESRECORD COMPILATION 'Autumn'
James Records, a music pub in Daegu, has been producing compilation albums featuring local musicians since 2020.
This album is the third album in the 2023 Four Seasons series, following the Spring and Summer albums released in 2024, and is the sixth compilation album from James Records.
We created songs we wanted to share with 9 musicians in the fall.
1 Fat Hamster – The Garden
James Records has a beautiful garden.
After a boisterous night of drinking with fellow musicians, you step out into the garden for a breath of fresh air. You'll encounter familiar landscapes, gravel paths, and a quaint fountain of indeterminate age. At those moments, you feel as if you've traveled through time, a special blend of past and present. I've captured that moment in electronic music.
The album builds on the retro synthesizer sound characteristic of the synthwave genre, layering plucks and lead performances with modern fuzz bass to create a three-dimensional sound. The album pursues an approachable groove through an intuitive, downtempo beat design.
2 B-Zero BASEMENTZEROFLOOR - ILLUNGILLUNG
The wandering of those who have lost their way, the repeated avoidance of facing the reality they face, exhausts them. Now, they are ready to give up everything they once poured out.
3 non non – The end of boyhood
In this world that flows endlessly, with one's head tilted back, one is thrown around on a revolving stage that never stops, and one writes in a scrawl.
4 Ripples - Most Beautiful When You Miss Me
"We were most honest and true to ourselves when we missed each other, when we couldn't meet again. The season we parted was at the end of summer, so for us, autumn is the most beautiful season."
5 National Highway 7 CBGD - We Sing
We Sing is a quiet choir created by broken hearts.
Some fall to love, some to a single word. But we still look to each other.
We sing together, yet sometimes sing alone. This song tells the story of our voices blossoming somewhere between solidarity and solitude. We sing in a deep, quiet emotion like a forest.
6 Dongchan - The End of the Night
Late at night, looking out the train at the neon signs and cityscape, I felt the night drawing to a close. I closed my eyes and gazed outside, longing for rest.
7 Roots Redeem - Upward
〈Sanghyang〉 is a song that reinterprets the traditional ritual ‘Soji (燒紙)’ in Roots Ridim’s own way.
The song embodies the ritual of burning a wish and sending it to heaven through music, culminating in shamanic rhythms and trance beats. The interweaving of Sujecheon melodies, sutra narration, and repetitive rhythms creates Roots Ridim's unique "Shamanic Trance" style. This song is both a ritual and a prayer, beginning with a quiet prayer and moving toward liberation and light.
8 Dongyoung – Hate and Gluttony
One bite, two bites. Chewing on hatred, swallowing pretense, spitting out sorrow, and ultimately being consumed by self-destruction.
On top of a list of honest feelings, pain is piled up.
At the edge of a cliff with a broken heart, all that remains is the afterglow of emotion.
9 nuh – as usual
'Opening Time' is a song that feels like walking through stopped time.
The passing agony, the repetitive inner shackles, and the tiny light that blooms within them.
The song undulates quietly from beginning to end,
I keep asking myself, “Is this how it ends?”
The lyrics don't give a clear answer.
Instead, I remain in the silence and trembling that the question creates.
And that silence is the last—
In one sentence, “It doesn’t end like this”
We learn that this song is a declaration of a beginning, not an end.
The sound is heavy and soft, like emotions layered on top of each other.
The melody scattered over the neat rhythm
Deconstruct the lyrics and let their lingering effects permeate like air.
'Opening Time' is between despair and hope,
Between stillness and movement,
Standing on the border between the end and the beginning.
And finally there,
One person's heart quietly opens.

대구에 있는 뮤직펍 제임스레코드에서는 2020년부터 로컬 뮤지션을 중심으로 컴필레이션 앨범을 제작하고 있습니다.
이 앨범은 2023년 사계절 시리즈로 기획, 2024년에 발매한 봄, 여름 앨범에 이은 세번째 앨범이며 제임스레코드의 6번째 컴필레이션 앨범입니다.
가을에 들려주고 싶은 곡들을 9팀의 뮤지션들과 만들었습니다.
1 Fat Hamster – The Garden
제임스레코드에는 근사한 정원이 있다.
동료 음악가들과 어울려 시끌벅적하게 술을 마시다 잠시 바람을 쐬러 정원으로 나가면 어딘가 친숙한 조경과 자갈길, 그리고 연식을 가늠하기 어려운 고풍스러운 분수대와 마주하게 된다. 그럴때면 마치 과거와 현재가 뒤섞인 특별한 시간여행을 하는 듯한 기분이 든다. 그 순간의 느낌을 전자음악에 담았다.
신스웨이브 장르의 특징을 지닌 레트로한 신디사이저 사운드를 바탕으로 플럭과 리드 연주를 쌓고, 현대적인 퍼즈 베이스를 더해 입체적인 사운드를 구성했다. 다운템포의 직관적인 비트 디자인을 통해 편하게 다가갈 수 있는 그루브를 추구했다.
2 비제로 BASEMENTZEROFLOOR - ILLUNGILLUNG
갈 곳을 잃은 이들의 방황, 직시한 현실에 대한 회피의 반복은 사람을 지치게 만든다. 이젠 쏟아내었던 모든 것을 포기하려 한다.
3 non non – 소년기의 끝
끊임없이 흘러만 가는 현세 속에 고개는 뒤로 젖혀진 채, 멈출 줄 모르는 회전무대에서 내동댕이 쳐지며 휘갈겨 쓴.
4 잔물결 - 그리워할 때 가장 아름다워
"우리는 만날 수 없어진 서로를 그리워할 때가 가장 솔직하고 우리다웠다. 우리가 헤어진 계절은 여름이 끝날 무렵이었고, 그러니까 우리에겐 가을이 가장 아름다운 계절."

We Sing은 부서진 마음들끼리 모여 만들어낸 조용한 합창이다.
누군가는 사랑에, 누군가는 말 한마디에 무너진다. 하지만 우리는 여전히 서로를 바라본다.
함께 노래하면서도, 때론 혼자 노래하는 우리. 이 노래는 연대와 고독 사이, 그 어딘가에서 피어나는 우리의 소리에 대한 이야기다. 숲처럼 깊고 조용한 감정 속에서, 우리는 노래한다.
6 동찬 - 밤의 끝
늦은 밤, 열차 밖을 통해 보이는 네온사인과 도시풍경을 바라보며, 밤의 끝으로 향해 간다는 감정을 받았어요. 눈을 감고 밖을 바라보며, 어서 쉬고 싶다는 생각과 함께 했다.
7 루츠리딤 ROOTSREDEEM - 상향
〈상향〉은 전통 의례 '소지(燒紙)'를 루츠리딤만의 방식으로 재해석한 곡이다.
소망을 불태워 하늘로 보내는 의식을 음악으로 구현하며, 무속적 리듬과 트랜스 비트가 절정을 이룬다. 수제천 선율, 경문 내레이션, 반복되는 리듬이 교차하며 루츠리딤만의 독특한 '샤먼 트랜스(Shamanic Trance)' 스타일을 완성했다. 이 곡은 하나의 의식이자 기도이며, 조용한 기도로 시작해 해방과 빛으로 향한다.
8 동영 – 미움폭식
한 입, 두 입. 미움을 씹고, 가식을 삼키고, 슬픔을 뱉고, 끝내 자멸에 잠식된다.
솔직한 감정의 나열 위에, 고통을 쌓아간다.
무너진 마음의 절벽 끝, 그 자리에 남는 건 감정의 잔향
9 nuh – 여느 때
'여는 때' 는 마치 멈춘 시간 속을 걷는 듯한 곡이다.
스쳐가는 고뇌, 반복되는 내면의 굴레, 그리고 그 안에서 피어나는 아주 작은 빛.
곡은 처음부터 끝까지 조용히 파동처럼 일렁이며,
“이렇게 끝나는 걸까”라는 질문을 반복한다.
가사는 명확한 답을 주지 않는다.
대신 그 질문이 만들어내는 침묵과 떨림 속에 머문다.
그리고 그 침묵이 다다른 마지막 —
“이렇게 끝내지 않아”라는 한 문장으로,
우리는 이 곡이 끝이 아닌 시작의 선언임을 알게 된다.
사운드는 한 겹 한 겹 덧칠된 감정처럼 무겁고도 부드럽다.
단정한 리듬 위에 흩뿌려진 멜로디는
가사를 해체하고, 그 여운을 공기처럼 스며들게 만든다.
'여는 때'는 절망과 희망 사이,
멈춤과 움직임 사이,
끝과 시작 사이의 그 경계에 서 있다.
그리고 결국 그곳에서,
한 사람의 마음이 조용히 열린다.

늦은 밤, 열차 밖을 통해 보이는 네온사인과 도시풍경을 바라보며, 밤의 끝으로 향해 간다는 감정을 받았어요. 눈을 감고 밖을 바라보며, 어서 쉬고 싶다는 생각과 함께 했다.
7 루츠리딤 ROOTSREDEEM - 상향
〈상향〉은 전통 의례 '소지(燒紙)'를 루츠리딤만의 방식으로 재해석한 곡이다.
소망을 불태워 하늘로 보내는 의식을 음악으로 구현하며, 무속적 리듬과 트랜스 비트가 절정을 이룬다. 수제천 선율, 경문 내레이션, 반복되는 리듬이 교차하며 루츠리딤만의 독특한 '샤먼 트랜스(Shamanic Trance)' 스타일을 완성했다. 이 곡은 하나의 의식이자 기도이며, 조용한 기도로 시작해 해방과 빛으로 향한다.
8 동영 – 미움폭식
한 입, 두 입. 미움을 씹고, 가식을 삼키고, 슬픔을 뱉고, 끝내 자멸에 잠식된다.
솔직한 감정의 나열 위에, 고통을 쌓아간다.
무너진 마음의 절벽 끝, 그 자리에 남는 건 감정의 잔향
9 nuh – 여느 때
'여는 때' 는 마치 멈춘 시간 속을 걷는 듯한 곡이다.
스쳐가는 고뇌, 반복되는 내면의 굴레, 그리고 그 안에서 피어나는 아주 작은 빛.
곡은 처음부터 끝까지 조용히 파동처럼 일렁이며,
“이렇게 끝나는 걸까”라는 질문을 반복한다.
가사는 명확한 답을 주지 않는다.
대신 그 질문이 만들어내는 침묵과 떨림 속에 머문다.
그리고 그 침묵이 다다른 마지막 —
“이렇게 끝내지 않아”라는 한 문장으로,
우리는 이 곡이 끝이 아닌 시작의 선언임을 알게 된다.
사운드는 한 겹 한 겹 덧칠된 감정처럼 무겁고도 부드럽다.
단정한 리듬 위에 흩뿌려진 멜로디는
가사를 해체하고, 그 여운을 공기처럼 스며들게 만든다.
'여는 때'는 절망과 희망 사이,
멈춤과 움직임 사이,
끝과 시작 사이의 그 경계에 서 있다.
그리고 결국 그곳에서,
한 사람의 마음이 조용히 열린다.

1) 톤암 혹은 무게 조절 기능이 없는 턴테이블을 사용하시는 경우, (주로 올인원 형태 모델) 다이내믹 사운드의 편차가 큰 트랙을 재생할 때 튀는 현상이 발생할 수 있는데 이는 대부분 가벼운 톤암 무게가 원인입니다.
기기 문제로 인해 발생하는 재생 불량 현상에 대해서는 반품/교환이 불가하니 톤암 조절이 가능한 기기에서 재생하실 것을 권유 드립니다.
2) 디스크는 정전기와 먼지로 인해 재생이 원활하지 않은 경우가 있습니다. 전용 제품으로 이를 제거하면 대부분 해결됩니다.
3) 바늘에 먼지가 쌓이는 경우에도 재생이 원활하지 않을 수 있습니다.
※ 디스크 이상
1) 디스크 표면이 울렁거리거나 휘어지는 경우가 있습니다. 재생에 이상이 있는 경우에만 반품이나 교환이 가능합니다.
2) 재생 음역의 왜곡을 최소화하고 반복 재생 시에도 최대한 일관되게 유지되도록 디스크 센터 홀 구경이 작게 제작되는 경우가 있습니다. 턴테이블 스핀들에 맞지 않는 경우에는 전용 제품 등을 이용하여 센터 홀을 조정하시면 해결됩니다.
