ITZY releases mini album 'Motto' and title track of the same name on May 18

ITZY, who will release their mini album 'Motto' on May 18, 2026, has the motto 'ITZY itself.' Adopting the motto 'I choose myself,' they possess a strong image of believing in themselves rather than doubting themselves amidst repetitive situations. Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna, who have conveyed the message of respecting and loving 'myself' since their 2019 debut song 'Dalla Dalla,' present an even more intense ITZY to fans worldwide through the solid and profound 'Motto.'

The new album 'Motto' is the first release in approximately six months since 'TUNNEL VISION' in November 2025. The trailer video for the new album perfectly foreshadowed the message ITZY wants to convey by projecting and encapsulating the entire album. It delivered a sense of immersion by dramatically portraying the individual narratives of the five members as they move forward precariously while maintaining balance, yet ultimately do not collapse. From Ryujin, who willingly indulges in the gaze of others toward her girl crush charm and the static inner self beyond it; Chaeryeong, who wants to reveal herself without a fixed mold rather than being conscious of others; Yuna, who moves forward trusting her instincts even when wavering; Lia, who maintains balance by openly displaying her emotions; to Yeji, who believes in herself at any moment and pushes forward to the end—the records of the artists' sincere thoughts and experiences have been sublimated into a metaphorical mise-en-scène. This trailer was overseen by Director Yoon Seung-rim of Legend Film, and joined by Director Léa Esmaili, known for building unique visual worlds, who collaborated closely with ITZY. Just like the confident lyrics about "not fearing the ending" and "passing the night of hesitation to meet the clear light," this song generates the momentum to move forward unhesitatingly and instills the courage to never stop. The music video also visually embodies the process of "meeting myself" and "being able to choose oneself."

The choreography for the new song was created by HAEINYSS and YURI, featuring large, refreshing movements that match the early summer vibe. HAEINYSS and YURI [will participate in] ITZY's new world tour in February 2026. After its first reveal, it became a hot topic as 'Daechu Nono' (nicknamed 'That's a Nono'), and participated in the performance work for the track 'THAT'S A NO NO' from the 2nd mini album, creating explosive synergy with ITZY.
