The Return of the Elast Whole


Elast, now in their 2nd year of debut, returns as a whole with the return of Wonjun, who was unable to be with them in "Tears". It's been about 1 year. The members, who sometimes had no time to rest together due to broadcasting, OST participation, and unit activities, prepared this album with both regrets from past activities and expectations for new activities while spending a short break. The energy of the members, who exerted all their strength more than ever, and the chemistry that became even hotter, escalated gradually after passing through 'Knight's Oath' and 'Tears of Tears', and exploded with climax intensity in this title song 'Bad Match'.

Starting with the unconventional and tense 'bad relationship', 'Muse' showed sticky vocal techniques that had not been shown before, and 'To. A total of three songs are included, including 'Lie', and each song shows an unpredictable charm of reversal, showing growth without being bound by the genre.

3. To. Lie

What if you, who existed only in my imagination, appeared in front of me like a lie?! To create a pleasant and bright atmosphere with fantasy cartoon-like material. Lie is a Teen Pop song that combines synth, 808 drums, and electronic elements reminiscent of the 90s. The rich vocal sound creates a cool feeling and shows off the refreshing and cute charm of Elast.

엘라스트 완전체의 귀환


이제 데뷔 2년차를 맞이한 엘라스트가 "눈물자국"에서 함께하지 못했던 원준의 복귀로 완전체가 되어 돌아온다. 약 1년만이다. 방송, OST 참여, 유닛 활동 등으로 함께 때론 각자 쉴 틈 없었던 멤버들은 잠깐의 휴식기를 보내며 지나온 활동에서의 아쉬움과 새로운 활동의 기대를 모두 담아 이번 앨범을 준비했다. 그 어느 때보다 혼신의 힘을 다한 멤버들의 에너지와 한층 뜨거워진 케미는 '기사의 맹세', '눈물 자국'을 지나 점점 고조되어, 이번 타이틀 곡 '악연'에서 절정의 격렬함이 되어 폭발한다.

파격적이고 긴장감 도는 '악연'을 필두로 그 동안 보여주지 못했던 끈적한 보컬 테크닉을 선보인 'Muse', 청량감 넘치는 귀염 모드의 'To. Lie'까지 총 3곡이 수록되어 있으며 곡마다 예측불가의 반전 매력을 선보이며 장르의 얽매이지 않고 성장하는 모습을 보여준다.

이윽고 Day와 Dream의 갈등이 폭발한다. 그 어느 때보다 어그레시브한 비트와 몰아붙이는 래핑, 서정적인 오케스트레이션과 드라마틱한 구성. 무엇하나 공존하기 어려울 것 같은 요소들은 천상과 대지를 뒤집듯이 뒤섞여 처음부터 원래 그러했던 것처럼 자기 자리를 찾아간다. 하나의 장르로 정의하기 어려운 사운드는 예상하기 어려운 변화무쌍함과 다양한 색채로 각 멤버들의 개성을 더욱 뚜렷하게 드러내게 하며 멤버들 또한 한층 성장한 플레이를 선보인다. 인스트루멘털에서 지난 타이틀의 오마주를 찾아보는 것 또한 백미.


2. Muse

트랩 스타일의 힙합 비트와 90년대 R&B 사운드를 연상시키는 코드웍 위에 단촐하면서도 쉴틈없는 멜로디와 랩핑이 묘한 긴장감을 자아내는 곡이다. Slow jam에 어울릴 만한 기타 리프와 직설적이며 자극적인 가사, 그루비한 보컬은 음악에 야릇함을 더한다.


3. To. Lie

상상 속에서만 존재했던 당신이 거짓말처럼 내 앞에 현신한다면?! 판타지 만화같은 소재로 유쾌하고 밝은 분위기를 자아내는 To. Lie는 90년대를 연상시키는 Synth와 808 drums, 일렉트로닉 요소를 융합한 Teen Pop 곡으로, 풍성한 보컬 사운드가 시원한 느낌을 자아내며 청량하고 귀여운 엘라스트의 반전 매력을 선보인다.
