Description (Translated):
Himalayas,The place where human breathing slows down the most.
Korean guitarists there
I rediscovered the essence of music.
Starting from the blues
And a new groove where the breath of the East meets.
Condensed energy and deep immersion,
The moment the performance begins
This place becomes a ritual.
Kailash Band's latest album is a sound performance documenting live ensemble playing in Charlie Chung's private studio. With minimal editing, the members' breathing, tension, and the flow of the sound are captured exactly as they are within the improvisational performance. Amidst the improvisation and repetition that flow like breath, the sound gradually deepens into a meditative state.
[Artist Information]
The Charlie Jung Kailash Band is a collective of musicians gathered around guitarist Charlie Jung, who has consistently led the Korean jazz scene. The fiery energy of seasoned drummer Lee Do-heon, Jason Paak, and Oh Won-seok creates a massive flow. Joining them are the rapidly rising free jazz guitarist Jung Won and percussionist Song Se-bin, who has mastered Brazilian music, to produce the most vibrant sound of today.
The Himalayas,
where the human breath slows to its deepest rhythm.
It was there that a Korean guitarist
encountered the essence of music once again.
Blues as the point of departure,
meeting the breath of the East,
a new groove is born.
Condensed energy and deep immersion.
The moment the performance begins,
this place becomes a single ritual.
This album by Kailash Band is a sonic practice,
a document of live ensemble sessions recorded in Charlie Jung's personal studio.
With editing kept to a minimum, the raw breath, tension,
and natural flow of sound between the members are captured as they are.
Through improvisation and repetition that move like breathing itself,
the sound gradually deepens into a meditative state.

Description (Original):
Kailash Band
