Description (Translated):

A father's affectionate electronic music recording a child's childhood

My child was born in the winter of 2015, and many aspects of our daily lives changed. My wife and I decided to raise our child without the help of our parents, relying instead on the teamwork of childcare institutions and ourselves; as such, our life routines quickly revolved around our child. At first, I was afraid that I could no longer work or rehearse late into the night as I used to, but once my available time was limited, I became accustomed to making the most of it. After the initial stages of childcare, I was able to work until my child returned from daycare, kindergarten, or elementary school. Thanks to full-day programs and after-school care classes, I was able to go to the studio roughly from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Living a similar routine every day suited my personality better than I expected. Once my child had settled into the institutions, I lived a life of going to and from the studio at the same time every day, except for performance days. While this was far from the image of a free-spirited musician, I suspect that my absolute working hours actually increased compared to before my child was born.
In 2025, my child celebrated their tenth birthday. Now in the upper grades of elementary school, they have grown up remarkably, far exceeding their parents' worries and expectations. Looking back on the past ten years, the number one task in my life was undoubtedly childcare. Preparing dinner and helping with homework on weekdays, making side dishes and ironing their Taekwondo uniform on weekends, and occasionally baking bread for the family—those were the kinds of tasks I repeated the most over the past decade. That is not to say I neglected my work. A father who used to know only how to play percussion, I consistently practiced the piano and caught up on my long-delayed music studies, creating and releasing music and performances under my own name. It is not just the child who is growing.

This album was created to record the time I spent with my child, accumulated over the years, through music. Although it is music that records deeply personal memories, I really wanted to leave a record to the world that the past ten years I have lived as both a father and a musician were meaningful. All the instruments used in the album (Moog and Prophet synthesizers, two Ace Tone drum machines, and a Yamaha YD45 transistor organ) were actually purchased and mastered after I entered the world of electronic music following the birth of my child. It would be a lie to say that balancing childcare and work wasn't difficult, but the time I spent working on thirteen songs while organizing the photos and videos of my child crammed into my phone was the happiest time of my life as a musician. I had long wanted to create lovely and humorous electronic music, and the time I spent with my child was a great help. All the illustrations used in the album were drawn by my child. The cover is a recolored version of a sketch of "Dad and Me" that my child drew in kindergarten, and on the back, the instruments used in the album were drawn on a tablet. I send my love and gratitude to my child, who has grown while spending the past ten years together, and to my wife, my most reliable colleague. I hope this album serves as pleasant background music for someone who is busy balancing work and childcare.

※ Jacket/Contents/Packaging Condition
1) Please note that minor jacket wrinkles, corner dents, cracks, etc., other than obvious playback defects, are not eligible for return or exchange.
2) The inner slab may crack due to contact with the disc, but this is not eligible for return or exchange.
3) The disc label may not be attached smoothly due to the manufacturing process.
4) Damage to the outer packaging film that is not defective to the product itself is not eligible for exchange or return.

※ Playback issues
1) If you are using a turntable without a tonearm or weight adjustment function (mainly all-in-one models), skipping may occur when playing tracks with large variations in dynamic sound, which is mostly caused by the light weight of the tonearm.
Returns or exchanges are not available for playback issues caused by device problems, so we recommend playing the recording on a device with adjustable tonearms.
2) Discs may not play smoothly due to static electricity and dust. This can usually be resolved by removing them with a dedicated product.
3) Playback may not be smooth if dust accumulates on the needle.

※ Disk abnormality
1) The disc surface may be uneven or warped. Returns or exchanges are only accepted if there is a playback issue.
2) In some cases, the center hole diameter of the disc is manufactured to be small to minimize distortion of the playback range and maintain maximum consistency even during repeated playback. If it does not fit the turntable spindle, the issue can be resolved by adjusting the center hole using a dedicated product.
3) Occasionally, there may be minor scratches on the disc or the finish may not be clean. Returns or exchanges are only accepted if there is a playback issue.

※ Color disc
1) The actual color of the color disc may differ from the web image.
2) Due to the nature of color discs, there may be color differences between albums during the production process.
3) Color discs may contain small dots or other color dyes that occurred during the manufacturing process.

※ Exchange/Return Information
1) For exchange/return requests due to obvious defects, please contact the customer center by attaching photos and videos verifying the defect, along with the model name of the playback device.
2) Since LP jackets are highly susceptible to damage during frequent shipping and are difficult to resell, returns due to mistaken purchases or a change of mind are not accepted. Please make your purchase carefully.

아이의 유년시절을 기록한 아빠의 다정한 전자음악

2015년 겨울 아이가 태어났고 일상의 많은 것이 바뀌었다. 아내와 나는 부모님의 도움 없이 보육 기관과 부부의 팀워크로 아이를 키우기로 했는데, 그런 만큼 삶의 루틴은 아이를 중심으로 빠르게 조정되었다. 처음에는 예전처럼 늦은 밤까지 작업과 합주를 할 수 없다는 것이 두렵기도 했는데 막상 쓸 수 있는 시간에 제한이 생기니 그 시간을 알차게 쓰는 것에 익숙해졌다. 초기 육아 이후로는 어린이집, 유치원, 초등학교에서 아이가 돌아올 때까지 일을 할 수 있었는데 종일반과 돌봄교실 덕분에 대략 오전 아홉 시부터 오후 다섯 시까지는 작업실에 나갈 수 있었다. 매일을 비슷하게 사는 건 생각보다 적성에 맞았다. 아이가 기관에 적응을 마친 뒤로는 공연이 있는 날을 제외하고 매일 같은 시간에 작업실에 출근하고 퇴근하는 삶을 살았다. 자유로운 음악가의 모습과는 거리가 멀었지만 오히려 절대적인 작업 시간은 아이가 태어나기 전보다 늘어나지 않았나 싶다.
2025년 아이는 열 번째 생일을 맞았다. 아이는 이제 초등학교 고학년이 되었고 부모의 걱정과 기대를 앞질러 훌쩍 자랐다. 지난 십 년을 돌아보면 내 삶의 첫 번째 과제는 단연 육아였다. 평일엔 아이의 저녁밥을 차리고 문제집을 봐주고, 주말엔 반찬을 만들고 태권도 도복을 다리고, 때때로 가족이 먹을 빵을 굽는 것. 지난 십 년간 가장 많이 반복했던 일은 그런 종류의 일이었다. 그렇다고 작업을 소홀히 했던 것도 아니다. 타악기만 다룰 줄 알았던 아빠는 피아노 연습과 함께 미뤄뒀던 음악 공부를 꾸준히 했으며 개인 이름으로 음악과 공연을 만들어 발표했다. 자라는 것은 아이만이 아니다.

는 그렇게 쌓인 아이와 나의 시간을 음악으로 기록하고자 만든 음반이다. 지극히 개인적인 추억을 기록한 음악이지만 아빠이자, 음악가로 살아온 지난 십 년간의 시간이 의미가 있었다는 것을 꼭 세상에 남기고 싶었다. 앨범에 사용된 모든 악기(Moog와 Prophet신시사이저, Ace Tone 드럼 머신 두 대, Yamaha YD45 트랜지스터 오르간)는 실제로 아이가 태어난 이후 전자음악의 세계에 입문한 뒤 구입하고 익힌 것들이다. 육아와 일을 병행하며 힘들지 않았다면 거짓말이겠지만, 핸드폰에 빼곡한 아이의 사진과 영상을 정리하며 열세 곡을 작업했던 시간은 음악가로서 가장 행복한 시간이었다. 오랫동안 사랑스럽고 유머가 담긴 전자음악을 만들고 싶었는데 아이와 보낸 시간들이 큰 도움이 되었다. 앨범에 사용된 모든 일러스트는 아이가 직접 그려준 것이다. 커버는 아이가 유치원에서 그렸던 '아빠와 나' 스케치에 위에 새로 채색한 것이고, 뒷면은 앨범에 사용된 악기를 태블릿으로 그려 주었다. 지난 십 년간 함께 시간을 보내며 성장한 아이에게, 또 나의 가장 든든한 동료인 아내에게 사랑과 감사의 마음을 전한다. 일과 육아를 병행하며 바쁜 시간을 보내고 있을 누군가에게 이 음반이 기분 좋은 배경음악이 되기를 바란다.

※ 재생 불량
1) 톤암 혹은 무게 조절 기능이 없는 턴테이블을 사용하시는 경우, (주로 올인원 형태 모델) 다이내믹 사운드의 편차가 큰 트랙을 재생할 때 튀는 현상이 발생할 수 있는데 이는 대부분 가벼운 톤암 무게가 원인입니다.
기기 문제로 인해 발생하는 재생 불량 현상에 대해서는 반품/교환이 불가하니 톤암 조절이 가능한 기기에서 재생하실 것을 권유 드립니다.
2) 디스크는 정전기와 먼지로 인해 재생이 원활하지 않은 경우가 있습니다. 전용 제품으로 이를 제거하면 대부분 해결됩니다.
3) 바늘에 먼지가 쌓이는 경우에도 재생이 원활하지 않을 수 있습니다.

※ 디스크 이상
1) 디스크 표면이 울렁거리거나 휘어지는 경우가 있습니다. 재생에 이상이 있는 경우에만 반품이나 교환이 가능합니다.
2) 재생 음역의 왜곡을 최소화하고 반복 재생 시에도 최대한 일관되게 유지되도록 디스크 센터 홀 구경이 작게 제작되는 경우가 있습니다. 턴테이블 스핀들에 맞지 않는 경우에는 전용 제품 등을 이용하여 센터 홀을 조정하시면 해결됩니다.
