Lee Chan-won's first mini-album [..Gift] is a multi-directional activity, and the top composers in Korea, such as Hong Jin-young, Ko Seong-jin, Dol I Park, and Fireworks Man, who have several mega-hit songs, put their heart and soul into making tailored clothes. It consists of trot songs that I have worked on. Supporting this, the session lineup of drummer Shin Seok-cheol, bass sheet Lee Tae-yoon, guitarist Hong Jun-ho, and Noh Kyung-hwan is also gorgeous.

The songs in this album are characterized by luxurious arrangements and performances that add listening fun while making use of Lee Chan-won's singing method and strengths. They caught both rabbits: artistry and popularity. Above all, through Lee Chan-won's voice, which freely directs his voice according to the mood of the song, sometimes soft and sweet, sometimes intense and sexy, this album will not only be an album that gives a glimpse of singer Lee Chan-won's infinite potential for development, but also It is expected to please everyone's ears.

It is a disco genre song with a funky twist. Drummer Shin Seok-cheol, bass sheet Lee Tae-yoon, brass band TST, and other top-notch sessions in Korea participate, presenting a dynamic groove that makes your shoulders shake from the beginning. The delightful melody and Lee Chan-won's unique refreshing voice perfectly express the excitement and happiness of going to meet someone you love. In particular, the romantic melody and sweet lyrics go well with confession songs or wedding songs. It is a trot ballad song with lyrical lyrics and beautiful melody. Seongjin Ko, who is famous for composing rock ballads, created a music directing team called Ko&Khai with khai and presented it as the first collaboration with Chanwon Lee. The piano melody of the intro and the performance of the nylon guitar are very attractive, and the comfortable string melody expresses the calm yet sad sensibility wonderfully. Lee Chan-won's appealing singing method, which makes use of the characteristics of the crossover genre where trot and ballad meet with amazing dynamic control, is also a point of appreciation that cannot be missed. 이찬원이 본인의 이름을 건 첫번째 미니앨범 [..선물]을 발매한다. 이찬원은 TV조선 <내일은 미스터트롯>에서 최종 순위 '미(美)'를 차지한 뒤 약 1년 반 동안 다양한 매력을 선보여 온 이찬원은, 음악 프로그램에서는 정통 트롯은 물론 세미 트롯, 발라드, 댄스 등 다양한 장르의 음악을 거침없이 소화하고 예능에서는 MC와 패널을 오가며 숨은 끼를 유감없이 발휘하며 스타성을 입증해왔다.
올가을, 독립 후 새출발을 하게 된 그의 첫 선택은 바로 팬들의 사랑에 대한 보답이다. 코로나19로 인한 팬데믹 상황에서 전국민에게 힘이 되어주었던 이찬원이지만, 그 역시 자신을 아낌없이 지지해준 팬들 덕분에 힘든 시기를 버틸 수 있었고 지금의 자리에 있을 수 있음을 누구보다 잘 알고 있다. 그런 이유로 이찬원은 그동안 받기만 했던 사랑을 노래 선물로 돌려드리겠다는 뜻으로 국민과 팬들에게 전하는 힐링과 응원 메시지를 자신의 첫 미니앨범 [..선물]에 정성스럽게 눌러 담았다.

이찬원의 첫번째 미니앨범 [..선물]은, 전방위적으로 활동하며 여러 곡의 메가 히트곡을 보유한 홍진영, 고성진, 똘아이박, 불꽃남자 등 국내 최정상급 작곡가들이 맞춤옷을 짓듯 한땀 한땀 심혈을 기울여 작업한 트롯곡들로 구성되어 있다. 이를 뒷받침하는 드럼 신석철, 베이스시트 이태윤을 비롯해 기타리스트 홍준호, 노경환 등의 세션 라인업 또한 화려하고, 특히 이번 앨범에서는 브라스 밴드 TST의 흥겨운 연주가 뉴트로 감성과 함께 감칠맛을 더해 고품격 트롯으로서의 완성도를 한층 높였다.

1. 그댈 만나러 갑니다
펑키가 가미된 디스코 장르의 곡이다. 드럼 신석철, 베이스시트 이태윤, 브라스 밴드 TST 등 국내 최정상급 세션이 참여해 도입부부터 어깨가 절로 들썩이는 다이내믹한 그루브를 선보인다. 흥겨운 멜로디에 이찬원 특유의 산뜻한 보이스가 어우러져 사랑하는 누군가를 만나러 가는 설렘과 행복한 마음을 잘 표현했다. 특히 로맨틱한 선율과 달콤한 가사가 고백송이나 결혼식 축가로 잘 어울린다. 아직까지 트롯 장르에서는 '국민 축가'로 불릴 만한 곡이 없었는데 이 노래가 대표적인 트롯 축가로 떠오를 듯하다.

2. 힘을 내세요
경쾌한 하우스 리듬에 세련된 브라스를 가미한 세미 트로트곡이다. 노래 제목에서 알 수 있듯 코로나로 힘든 날들을 보내고 있는 사람들에게 위로와 응원의 메시지를 담았다. 삶의 애환을 어루만지는 가사, 신나는 멜로디, 중독성 있는 후렴구가 한 번만 들어도 계속 귓가에 맴도는 매력적인 곡이다. 따라 부르기도 쉬워 또 하나의 '국민 트롯송' 탄생을 예감케 한다.

3. 메밀꽃 필 무렵
서정적인 가사와 아름다운 멜로디가 돋보이는 트롯 발라드곡이다. 록발라드 작곡으로 유명한 고성진이 khai와함께 Ko&Khai 라는 뮤직 디렉팀을 만들어 이찬원과 첫 콜라보로 선보였다. 인트로의 피아노 멜로디와 나일론 기타의 연주가 무척 매력적인 곡으로, 편안하게 감싸주는 스트링의 선율이 담담하면서도 슬픈 감성을 멋지게 표현했다. 트롯과 발라드가 만난 크로스 오버 장르의 특성을 기막힌 강약 조절로 잘 살린 이찬원의 호소력 짙은 창법 또한 놓칠 수 없는 감상 포인트. 특히 클라이맥스 부분에서 원숙하게 발전한 이찬원의 감정 표현은 듣는 이의 가슴까지 촉촉이 적신다.
