The title song "It's all thanks to you" was written/composed by Kim Gun-mo and co-arranged by Kim Gun-mo and Kim Seok-won. (Blues) It is a famous song that can feel deep emotion with emotion, and it was born with Kim Gun-mo's sensibility that many people can sympathize with, with unique sincere lyrics. In particular, it depicts an elderly couple living in the second half of their lives, and the lyrics that flow naturally as if having a real conversation touch our family and parents and bring the listener to tears.

1992년 1집 앨범 <잠 못 드는 밤 비는 내리고>로 혜성처럼 등장하여, 지난 25년간 음악으로 대한민국을 웃고 울게 만들었던 김건모가 5년 만의 새 앨범으로 그의 인생 이야기를 들려준다. 앨범명 <50>은 올해 50세가 된 김건모의 새로운 도전을 의미하며, 그의 인생에 진하게 녹아있는 ‘정’과 ‘사랑’ 그리고 오랜 시간 함께해 준 이들에게 전하는 감사를 함축한 단어이다.

타이틀곡인 "다 당신 덕분이라오"는 김건모 작사/작곡 김건모, 김석원 공동편곡으로 음악적 영감은 미국의 대표적 블루스(Blues) 아티스트인 레이 찰스(Ray Chales)에게 받았으며, 김건모만의 소울(Soul)과 진한 블루스(Blues) 감성이 담겨 깊은 감동을 느낄 수 있는 명곡으로 특유의 진정성 있는 가사까지 더해져 많은 이들이 공감할 수 있는 김건모표 감성으로 탄생하였다. 특히, 인생의 후반기를 살아가는 노부부의 모습을 그리며, 마치 실제 대화를 나누듯 자연스레 흘러가는 가사는 우리의 가족과 부모님의 모습에 닿아 듣는 이를 눈물짓게 한다.

지금도 많은 이들의 감수성을 자극하는 미련(1996), 사랑이 떠나가네(1997), 미안해요(2001), 빗속의 여인(2001), 서울의 달(2005)은 김건모, 작곡가 김석원의 고심 어린 편곡과 후배 아티스트 어반자카파 ‘조현아’, 베스티 ‘유지’, ‘김혜인(마산 설리)’, ‘이민정(아차산 아이스크림녀)’의 보컬 참여로 섬세하고 완성도 높은 역대급 리메이크곡으로 탄생했다.
