Seven colors of attractive girls that will surprise everyone! DIA came back after about a year with a mini album.

Starting with the first full-length album [Do It Amazing] last year and the single album [My Friend's Boyfriend], fans have already received attention as a cool start by receiving reviews as a girl group that came out with solid dance music that could not be found before. received. The second album [HAPPY ENDING], released this time, is an album that expresses DIA's unique sensibility, expressing the spectrum deeper and wider, from high school girls just like the members' ages, to ladies just starting to enter their 20s.

For this album, all DIA members participated in writing and composing the lyrics, adding to its meaning. 'Trainee', which melts the complex feelings of a girl who goes through a trainee life and devotes herself to her dream of becoming a singer, with simple lyrics, was written by all members of DIA in unison. Member Heehyun, who showed her potential as a rapper by appearing on Mnet's 'Produce 101', even wrote the lyrics for 'Happy Ending', which expresses the expectation of love that has started again with a lively rhythm.

In particular, 'Waiting for You', which includes both DIA and member Yebin's solo version, is Yebin's self-composed song, which was previously released through the V app and was included in the album thanks to fans' requests. The girl's fresh feelings for the neighborhood brother she used to love unrequitedly and the fresh melody make the listener's heart flutter. A new member, Eunchae, will also present her own song. Eun-chae's song 'I'll Remember', which captures both the excitement and fear of an unfamiliar environment, contains what she wants to convey to fans along with her trembling heart until she becomes a new member of DIA.


Member Heehyun also participated in the rap part of the title song 'On the Road', a song that expresses the precious promise of girls shared on the street with a beautiful melody.

The title song 'On the Road' is the work of Lee Ki-yong-bae, who composes and writes lyrics for all the title songs of girl group GFRIEND's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd mini-albums, and has already been recognized for his musical sense and is considered one of the top composers in Korea. Unlike existing dance songs, the ensemble of full melodies flowing over the sound catches the ear even though it consists only of string lines, piano melodies, and guitar performances that lead the song from the intro. The title song, 'On the Road' Lee Ki-yong-bae and DIA met and finished the song with a fresh and refreshing feeling suitable for summer while highlighting the girl's sensibility.

A total of five songs were completed as an album with a series of processes from a girl experiencing growing pains of love to a mature woman, and the specialness of the album was doubled by the members' efforts in writing and composing as well as the perfection of the album.

This DIA music video was directed by Lee Ki-baek. By paying homage to the Taiwanese movie 'The Girl We Loved Back then', which depicts the vague feelings of first love, the drama-like story was completed by adding the excitement of girls who cherished their first love back then. The dramatized version of the music video as well as the choreography version of the music video with refreshing group dance were completed to add richness. Director Lee Ki-baek has previously worked with G-Dragon, GD&TOP, Lee Hyo-ri, Epik High, Zico, Jay Park, and Gary, drawing attention for his sensuous visual beauty and outstanding directing.

모두를 놀라게 할 일곱 빛깔의 매력적인 그녀들! DIA가 미니앨범을 들고 약 1여년만에 돌아왔다.

작년 [Do It Amazing]이라는 첫 번째 정규앨범과 싱글앨범인 [내 친구의 남자친구]를 시작으로 팬들에게는 이미 기존에 찾아 볼 수 없는 탄탄한 댄스음악과 함께 나온 걸그룹이라는 평을 받으며 시원한 스타트로 주목 받았다. 이번에 발표하는 두 번째 앨범 [HAPPY ENDING]은 실제 멤버들의 나이처럼 고등학생 소녀에서부터 이제 막 20대에 들어서기 시작한 숙녀까지, 그 스펙트럼을 한 층 더 깊고 넓게 표현한 DIA만의 감성을 살린 앨범이다.

이번 앨범에는 다이아 전 멤버가 작사?작곡에 참여해 그 의미를 더했다. 연습생 생활을 겪으며 가수의 꿈을 위해 정진하는 소녀의 복잡한 심정을 담백한 가사로 녹인 ‘연습생’은 DIA 전 멤버가 합심하여 작사한 곡으로 진솔한 마음과 시적인 가사가 돋보이는 곡이다. 다시 시작된 사랑의 대한 기대감을 발랄한 리듬으로 표현한 ‘Happy Ending’에는 Mnet ‘프로듀스101’에 출연하며 래퍼로서의 가능성을 보여준 멤버 희현이 랩을 직접 작사하기도 했다.

특히, DIA와 멤버 예빈의 솔로 버전까지 두 가지 버젼으로 모두 담기는 ‘널 기다려’는 예빈의 자작곡으로 일전에 V앱을 통해 선보이면서 팬들의 요청에 힘입어 앨범에 담기게 되었다. 짝사랑하던 동네 오빠에 대한 소녀의 풋풋한 감정과 상큼한 멜로디는 듣는 이의 마음마저 설렘으로 물들게 만드는 곡이다. 새로운 멤버 은채 역시 자작곡을 선보인다. 낯선 환경에 대한 설레임은 물론 두려운 마음까지 담아낸 은채가 노래하는 ‘기억할게요’는 DIA의 새 멤버로 되기까지 떨리는 마음과 함께 팬들에게 전하고 싶은 내용을 담았다.


첫사랑의 아련한 감정을 담은 노래로 거리에서 나눈 소녀들의 소중한 약속을 아름다운 선율로 표현한 곡인 타이틀곡 ‘그 길에서’의 랩부분 역시 멤버 희현이 참여해 멤버들의 다양한 이야기를 풀어냈다.

타이틀곡 ‘그 길에서’는 걸그룹 여자친구의 1,2,3집 미니앨범 타이틀곡 모두를 작곡, 작사하며 이미 그 음악적 감각을 인정받아 국내 최정상 작곡가로 손꼽히는 이기용배의 작품이다. 기존의 댄스 곡과는 다르게 인트로부터 곡을 끌고 가는 스트링 라인과 피아노 선율, 그리고 기타 연주만으로 이루어져 있음에도 불구하고 사운드 위에 흐르는 가득찬 멜로디의 앙상블이 귀를 사로잡는다. 타이틀곡 ‘그 길에서는’ 이기용배와 다이아가 만나 여름에 어울리는 싱그러운 청량감이 느껴지면서도 소녀의 감성이 돋보이는 곡으로 완성시켰다.

총 5곡의 곡을 사랑의 성장통을 겪는 소녀부터 성숙해가는 숙녀로 거듭나는 일련의 과정들을 담아 하나의 앨범으로 완성시키며 앨범의 완성도는 물론 멤버들의 작사?작곡에 참여한 노력으로 특별함이 배가되었다.

이번 다이아 뮤직비디오는 이기백 감독이 매가폰을 잡았다. 첫사랑의 아련한 감정이 묻어나는 대만 영화 ‘그 시절, 우리가 좋아했던 소녀’를 오마주하여 그 시절 첫사랑을 간직한 소녀들의 가슴 뛰는 설렘들을 넣어 한편의 드라마와 같은 내용을 완성시켰다. 드라마타이즈 버전의 뮤직비디오는 물론 상큼한 군무를 담은 안무버전의 뮤직비디오까지 완성해 풍성함을 더했다. 이기백 감독은 앞서 지드래곤, GD&TOP, 이효리, 에픽하이, 지코, 박재범, 개리 등과 호흡을 맞추며 감각적인 영상미와 뛰어난 연출로 주목받고 있다.
