Sungkyu Kim's solo album [27].
When he completed his first album [Another Me] three years ago, what he paid attention to was not Sunggyu's, but Kim Sungkyu's self-revealing as Infinite's leader.
In that respect, the new album [27] is like a travelogue that went to a farther place than three years ago.
At that time, young people go on a long trip, look back on themselves, and objectify themselves through experiences in unfamiliar places. Kim Sung-gyu started walking in the opposite direction, not the style at the center of idol music, and the safety of Infinite in order to contain his raw self living at the age of 27.
It was Kim Jong-wan of Nell who became the compass for the trip. Kim Seong-gyu developed his dream of becoming a singer while watching Nell's Kim Jong-wan, and now that he is standing here, the meaning is more special than a relationship between seniors and juniors at the company or a relationship between a producer and a singer.
The two of them spent countless nights talking and working on the album, and since they didn't set the time, the album that was supposed to be [26] was ready to come out to the world under the name [27] after a year or so. Done.
[27] consists of two titles, 'Kontrol' and 'It Must Be You'. At first, after deciding on one of the two songs as the title, both songs received good reviews from internal monitoring, so much so that we thought we should save the other song for the next album. However, since it's a solo album coming out after a long time, I decided to release it as a double title, and I'm approaching the fans with the conflicting feelings of the two songs.
If 'Kontrol' is a song that contains a manly will with a sense of urban rhythm, 'It Must Be You' is a song with a gentle courtship style between natural beats, and the two songs contain opposite feelings.
'Kontrol' is directed by director Sua Hwang, who was loved the most by Infinite fans, and is receiving attention for its unique color and storytelling. Director KEEKANZ, who received worldwide attention as the director of a music video made by rappers, maximized the visual beauty of music with a conflicting feeling.
In particular, the photo of [27] was taken by the photographer LESS, capturing the natural charm of Kim Seong-gyu without decorating, and attracted fans' attention even before the album was released.
In addition, the album includes 'Alive', in which SPACE BOY, who drew attention as the first Korean artist belonging to DEF JAM, participated, and 'Daydream', which was first revealed by Borderline, a team formed by Tablo and Kim Jong-wan, and K-pop stars. It boasts the quality of every single song, such as 'Answer Song', which he collaborated with Park Yun-ha, and fills Kim Seong-gyu's album [27].

3년 전 첫 앨범 [Another Me]를 완성하며 주목했던 것은 인피니트 리더로서 성규가 아닌, 김성규만의 자아를 드러내는 것이었다.
그런 점에서 새 앨범 [27]은 3년전 보다 더 먼 곳을 향해 떠난 여행기와 같다.
그 무렵 청춘들이 멀리 여행을 떠나면서 자신을 되돌아보고, 낯선 곳에서의 경험을 통해 자신을 객관화해 보는 것처럼. 김성규는 스물일곱을 살고 있는 날 것의 자신을 담기 위해 인피니트라는 안전하고, 아이돌 음악의 중심에선 스타일이 아닌, 정반대의 방향을 향해 걷기 시작했다.
그 여행의 나침반이 되어 준 것은 넬의 김종완이었다. 김성규는 넬의 김종완을 보면서 가수의 꿈을 키워 왔고 지금 이 자리에 섰기에 그 의미는 단순히 회사 선후배의 관계라거나 프로듀서와 가수의 관계보다 더 남달랐다.
그 둘은 수 없이 많은 밤을 새우며 이야기하고 작업하며 앨범을 만들었고, 그 시간을 정해 두지 않은 터라 [26]일 뻔했던 앨범은 1년여의 시간이 지나면서 [27]이라는 이름으로 세상에 나올 준비를 마쳤다.
[27]은 'Kontrol'과 '너여야만 해' 두 곡의 타이틀로 이루어져 있다. 처음엔 두 곡 중 한 곡을 타이틀로 결정을 한 후 나머지 한 곡을 다음 앨범을 위해 아껴두자고 생각했을 만큼 두 곡 모두가 내부 모니터링에서 좋은 평가를 받았다. 하지만 오랜만에 나오는 솔로 앨범이니 만큼 더블 타이틀로 선보이자 결정 내렸고 두 곡의 상반된 느낌을 가지고 팬들에게 다가간다.
'Kontrol'이 도시적인 리듬감에 남자다운 의지가 담겨 있는 곡이라면, '너여야만 해'는 내츄럴한 비트 사이로 부드럽게 구애하는 스타일의 곡으로 두 곡이 정반대의 느낌을 담고 있다.
'Kontrol'은 인피니트 팬들에게 가장 큰 사랑을 받았던 황수아 감독이 연출을 맡아 특유의 유니크한 색감과 스토리텔링으로 관심을 받고 있으며, '너여야만 해'는 최근 "#HIPHOPISHIPHOP"이라는 전세계를 대표하는 래퍼들이 모여 만든 뮤직비디오의 디렉터로 세계적인 주목 받았던 KEEKANZ 감독이 연출을 해 상반된 느낌으로 음악의 영상미를 극대화했다.
특히, [27]의 사진은 포토그래퍼 LESS 작가가 맡아 꾸미지 않고도 자연스러운 김성규의 매력을 포착하며 앨범 발매 전부터 팬들의 관심을 모았다.
그리고 앨범에는 한국인 최초의 데프잼(DEF JAM) 소속 아티스트로 화제를 모았던 SPACE BOY가 참여한 'Alive', 타블로와 김종완이 결성한 팀 보더라인(BORDERLINE)이 최초로 정체를 드러낸 'Daydream’과 케이팝스타 출신의 박윤하와 함께 호흡을 맞춘 '답가' 등 어느 한 곡 빠짐 없이 퀄리티를 자랑하며 김성규의 앨범 [27]을 꽉 채운다.
