DONGKIZ 3rd Single Album 'Self' consists of a total of 3 tracks, including the title track, and is composed of AKB, who was in charge of music production for previous albums such as 'NOM', 'BlockBuster', 'Fever', and 'LUPIN' Along with Dono, Chronic, and lyricist Isran, who are attracting attention with their fresh top line, member Jaechan directly participated in rap making to improve the album's perfection. In addition, the track 'Special thanks to', a message to the fandom 'Club' who has supported the group since their debut, was included only on the CD to make it even more special.

The title song 'Beautiful' is a trap genre with the motif of old western music. In the performance part, JustJerk, a dance crew that made the whole world go wild beyond Korea, participated and completed Dongkiz's masculine and sexy sword dance that had never been shown before.

In addition, the music video for 'Beautiful' is directed by MOSWANTD's 'Lee Min-joon' and 'Lee Ha-yong', who are attracting attention in the music and advertising worlds for their trendy videos. 2019년 데뷔 후 자신감 가득한 음악과 개성 강한 컨셉의 무대를 선보였던 동키즈가 최근 문익&재찬 DONGKIZ I:KAN 유닛 활동을 성공적으로 끝마친 후 동키즈의 새로운 시작을 의미하는 음악과 무대로 컴백한다.

DONGKIZ 3rd Single Album ‘自我’에는 타이틀곡을 포함 총 3트랙으로 구성된 이번 앨범은 ‘놈(NOM)’, ‘BlockBuster’, ‘Fever’, ‘LUPIN’ 등 전 앨범들의 음악 프로듀싱을 맡았던 AKB와 아티스트 겸 신선한 탑라인으로 주목받고 있는 DONO, 만성, 작사가 이스란 등과 함께 멤버 재찬이 직접 랩 메이킹에 참여하며 앨범의 완성도를 높였다. 그 외에도 데뷔 때부터 함께 응원해 준 팬덤 ‘동아리’에게 전하는 메시지 'Special thanks to' 트랙이 CD에만 수록되어 더욱 특별함을 더했다.
