Card the Garden 2nd Album [C]“A lot happened. There were also various emotional lines that flowed crosswise. The more I spend a day, a month, or a year like that, the more often I think about how it was right then, but it could be so wrong for me now, or vice versa.
I was curious, what changes will come to me and what will change with these changes. The dictionary meaning of the word 'reflection' is 'deeply looking back at what you did'.
Before the album work started in earnest, I tried to introspect. As I wrote and completed the song, I reflected and at the same time weighed my concerns about my worth in the distant future.
Care was taken not to lean in either direction.
Even in my hellish childhood, I tried to look straight ahead. I came to feel that the days that I concluded were the cause of the trauma were actually just passing by.
That's how 9 songs were born.
I hope that these friends will stand on their own two feet and meet many people. Through these songs, I would like to share my depression, joy, fear, happiness, all of them with you.
It has to be that kind of record.
The album was also named that way.
C stands for Car, the garden, Cigarette, and Christmas. It was quite funny that my favorite things have an intersection of the alphabet C.
Yes, that's right. It's a terribly subjective and selfish album. It is packed with stories like that.”

카더가든 정규 2집 [C]“많은 일이 있었죠. 여러 감정선이 엇갈려 흐르기도 했고요. 그렇게 하루, 한 달, 한 해를 보낼수록 그때는 맞았지만 지금의 나에겐 너무나 틀릴 수 있구나, 혹은 그 반대의 경우를 생각하는 게 잦아졌습니다.
궁금했어요, 제 안에 변화가 찾아오고 이 변화들로 인해 무엇이 바뀌어 갈지. '성찰'이라는 단어의 사전적 의미는 '자신이 한 일을 깊이 되돌아보는 일'입니다.
앨범 작업이 본격화되기 전, 성찰을 하고자 노력했습니다. 글을 적고 곡을 완성하면서 성찰과 동시에 먼 미래의 제 가치에 대한 우려를 저울에 올려놓았습니다.
그 어느 쪽으로도 치우치지 않도록 주의를 기울였습니다.
지옥 같던 유년 시절 역시 똑바로 바라보려고 노력했습니다. 트라우마의 원흉이라 결론지었던 시절들이 사실은 그냥 지나간 시간이라고 느끼게 된 거예요.
그렇게 9곡이 탄생했습니다.
이 친구들이 스스로 두 발로 버티고 서서 많은 분들과 만나길 희망합니다. 이 곡들을 통해 저의 울적함, 환희, 두려움, 행복, 그 모든 것을 여러분들과 공유하면 좋겠습니다.
그런 음반이어야만 하구요.
앨범명 역시 그렇게 이름 붙여지게 되었습니다.
C는 Car, the garden을 뜻하기도, Cigarette을 뜻하기도, Christmas를 뜻하기도 합니다. 제가 좋아하는 것들이 알파벳 C라는 교집합을 가지고 있다는 것이 꽤 재밌었습니다.
