10cm 4th full album [4.0]

'I' is alone in a small room.
In that room, fragments of various emotions glitter and float, drift slowly, and sometimes collide and crumble. Because I am alone, in inevitable solitude, I wait for 'you' and talk to 'you'. For 'I', only 'you' are allowed to step into this small space, so it is a small world for only the two of you and me.

[4.0] is the fourth full-length album of '10cm'. It is the fifth studio recording work since joining the current management company 'Magic Story Berry Sound', and it has been exactly 3 years since [3.0] in 2014 as a regular album.
The album, which contains 8 new songs, is especially meaningful in that it is the first work released by 10cm after the recent major change from a duo to a one-person 'Kwon Jeong-yeol'.

It's fortunate and nice to see that the unique color of '10cm' is still the same despite the change that could have shaken the existence itself. Songs such as 'Do you like spring?' 10cm's unique sensibility is still alive in songs such as 'Ponsert', which sings that it is "the world's most expensive solo performance" dedicated to 'you', and 'Pet', which mischievously confesses to 'Tame me like your puppy'. and Sense can be found. On the other hand, sweet and pleasant love songs ('Island', 'Hotel Room') inheriting the sensibility of 'Love is in the Milky Way Cafe' and 'Sseudamsseudam', as well as 'Stalker' and 'Nothing without You', are sorrowful. It is a well-balanced work of tracks with various atmospheres that do not lose the unique color of 10cm, including desperate ballad numbers that seek love (Everything) and ask for help (Help).

In [4.0], 'I', the narrator, is alone in a small room and waits for 'you' in that room. 'I' longs for the love of 'you' and also hopes for salvation from 'you'. For 'I', only 'you' are allowed to step into this small space, so this [4.0] is a small world of only 'you and me'.

'나'는 작은 방 안에 홀로 있다.
그 방 안엔 갖가지 감정의 편린들이 반짝이며 부유하고, 느릿느릿 떠돌고, 더러는 부딪혀 바스라진다. 나는 혼자이기에 필연적인 고독 속에서 '너'를 기다리고, '너'에게 이야기를 건넨다. '나'에게 있어 이 작은 공간 안으로의 발걸음이 허락되는 이는 오직 '너' 하나뿐이며 그래서 그곳은 오직 '너와 나' 단 둘만의 작은 세계다.

[4.0]은 '십센치(10cm)'의 통산 네 번째 정규앨범이다. 현재 소속사 '매직스토리베리사운드'에 합류한 이후 다섯 번째 스튜디오 레코딩 작품이자 정규 앨범으로서는 2014년 [3.0] 이후 꼭 3년 만이다.
여덟 곡의 새로운 노래를 수록하고 있는 앨범은 무엇보다도 최근 십센치가 듀오에서 '권정열' 1인 체제로의 큰 변화를 이행한 이후 처음으로 공개하는 작품이라는 점에서 남다른 의미가 있다.

행여 존재 자체가 흔들릴 수도 있었던 변화를 거쳤음에도 불구하고 '십센치' 특유의 색채가 여전해서 다행스럽고 또 반갑다. '봄이 좋냐', '아메리카노'와 같이 흥미로운 발상, 상황설정을 특유의 발칙하고 위트 가득한 노랫말로 풀어내는 곡들이야말로 십센치의 시그니쳐라고 할 수 있을 텐데 연인에게 전화를 걸어 노래를 불러주는 달달한 상황을 '너'에게 바치는 "세상에서 제일 비싼 단독 공연"이라 노래하는 '폰서트', '나'를 "너의 강아지처럼 길들여줘"라 짓궂게 고백하는 'pet'과 같은 곡들에서 여전히 건재한 십센치 고유의 감성과 센스를 만날 수 있다. 한편 '사랑은 은하수 다방에서', '쓰담쓰담' 등의 감성을 계승하는 달콤하고 기분 좋은 러브송들('아일랜드', 'Hotel Room')이나 '스토커', 'Nothing without You'가 그러했듯 처연하게 사랑을 갈구하고(Everything) 구원의 손길을 청하는(Help) 절절한 발라드 넘버들도 골고루 수록, 십센치의 고유의 색채를 잃지 않은 다양한 분위기의 트랙들이 균형감 있게 배치되어 있는 작품이다.

[4.0] 속 화자인 '나'는 작은 방 안에 홀로 있고 그 방 안에서 '너'를 기다린다. '나'는 '너'의 사랑을 애타게 소망하고, 또 '너'에게서 구원을 바라기도 한다. '나'에게 있어 이 작은 공간 안으로의 발걸음이 허락되는 이는 오직 '너' 하나뿐이며 그래서 이곳은, [4.0]은 오직 '너와 나' 단 둘만의 작은 세계다.
