걸그룹 걸스데이가 데뷔 2년 8개월 만에 생애 첫 정규앨범 ‘Expectation'을 발매한다. 걸스데이 첫 정규앨범 ‘Expectation'은 ‘반짝반짝’ ‘너, 한눈팔지마!’ ‘한번만 안아줘’ ‘나를 잊지마요’ 등 그동안 걸스데이의 히트곡들을 탄생시킨 작곡가 남기상이 총 프로듀서를 맡았으며 자작곡을 포함 신곡 6곡 기존 타이틀곡 6곡 등 총 14곡이 수록됐다.

지난 2010년 7월 첫 번째 싱글앨범 '갸우뚱'으로 데뷔한 후 미니앨범 2장, 디지털싱글 5장, 스페셜 싱글 2장, 작곡가 프로젝트앨범 참여 2장, 드라마 OST 4장 등 총 15장의 앨범을 발표하며 왕성한 활동을 펼쳐왔다. 특히 2011년 3월 발표한 '반짝반짝'이 공전의 히트를 기록했으며 이후 예능과 드라마 CF, 일본 공연 등을 통해 대한민국 대표 인기 걸그룹으로 자리매김했다. 타이틀곡 ‘기대해’(작곡 남기상 / 작사 남기상 DANIEL R.)는 아날로그와 일렉트로닉이 적절히 배치된 맞춤형 하이브리드 사운드로 무장했다. 특히 이곡은 혜리와 유라의 상큼하고 개성 있는 보컬과 리드보컬 소진과 민아의 요염과 섹시를 오가는 원숙한 가창력을 맛볼 수 있다.

팀의 막내 혜리가 스무 살이 되면서 팀 전체의 분위기도 달라졌다. 안무, 의상, 헤어스타일, 메이크업까지 섹시 콘셉트로 무장한 이번 앨범은 기존 앨범들과 비교해 한층 성숙한 걸스데이를 만날 수 있다. 의상은 블랙&레드 컬러 코드에 상의 속옷이 비추는 시스루, 짧은 핫팬츠를 통해 전체적으로 도도함과 절제된 섹시미를 부각시켰다. 안무 역시 그동안 걸스데이가 보여주지 않았던 가슴과 허리, 다리의 각선미를 강조한 동작들을 중점으로 구성해 절제된 섹시미를 느낄 수 있다.
