They first define the sound they want, gather members to realize it, and then use existing references as a compass to approach their intended form. This method efficiently brings imagined music to life. However, the more priority is given to getting closer to the target form, the more likely unexpected sounds that emerge during the process are treated as errors to be corrected rather than possibilities to be discovered. Of course, not all errors lead to a new musical grammar. However, unnamed possibilities sometimes reveal themselves the moment they deviate from the plan. Because Chip Post Gang did not pre-establish a single correct answer, they did not need to immediately treat unexpected sounds as errors. People gathered before the music, and friction arose before the goal.\u003cbr\u003e The band began with a single tweet Ji Su-min posted out of boredom, seeking jam members. That post led to a meeting with Sang-wook Oh, and Sean joined because they thought it would be nice to have a drummer as well. With distinct trajectories and tastes, the three individuals pushed forward with exactly what they each considered cool, rather than trying to fit each other into a single standard. One person's choice provoked a reaction from the other two, and that reaction, in turn, shook their initial choices. At times, their playing would interlock exquisitely, only to diverge in unexpected directions. Depending on the context, the dissonance between them could become an uncomfortable tension or an unfamiliar beauty. They did not categorize these outcomes as success or failure, but rather used them as conditions for their next choices. Of course, simply leaving these interlocking and discordant elements as they are does not create new music. However, this relationship, which constantly shook each other's choices and called for the next, did not easily solidify into a single style. That open potential led to their first EP, [CAVEQUAKE].\u003cbr\u003e Following [CAVEQUAKE], their scope of activity rapidly expanded. Many in the scene welcomed them, and their EP and live performances received a better response than expected. Beyond venues they organized themselves or those arranged by friends, they began to be invited to various stages, both large and small. The collective Patchroom, which used to produce a free magazine, hosted the Patchcode Fair and subsequently sold out the Patchroom Festival, featuring 74 participating teams. While immersing himself in improvisational music, Oh Sang-wook participated as a panelist in forums and conferences. Sean performed at the Pentaport Festival while simultaneously pursuing his activities with Lily It Machine. The number of people they respected and supported, as well as those they wanted to offer a word to, also increased. If [CAVEQUAKE] was an album that compressed the production process and personnel to the extreme, capturing the moment when the three members' choices shook each other, in [Things We Call Us], that exchange expands to the relationships between the band and the people around them.\u003cbr\u003e “The entrance to the ground that you the SCUMBAG were even embraced,” which opens the album, is a song in which they project themselves onto the image of their friend Hannah, who has gone through these experiences with them. In the following track, “Oatmeal,” they convey their hope to fellow drummer Kang Young-jo, who plays in various bands, that he will continue to move forward exactly as he appeared in the eyes of Chip Post Gang. “Hijacked” contains respect for Pitchtruck Hijackers’ attitude toward this scene. The album concludes with the final track, “Long Summer,” an homage to fellow musician Woo Hee-jun. The other songs also contain the influences they received from the many “friends and enemies” they encountered, as well as words they offer to them in return. In this album, the roles of the speaker and the receiver are not fixed. Friends may hear a word, enemies may become friends, and there are those who are friends on a personal level but remain enemies in terms of music and activities for the time being.\u003cbr\u003e For them, \"we\" does not merely refer to relationships of giving and receiving influence. 'Caveman noise rock band'를 자처하며 자신들의 소리를 바깥으로 내던지던 이들은 이제 자신들이 속한 씬을 실감하고, 그 안에서 함께 호흡할 동료들을 만났다. 무대를 나누고 서로의 활동을 지켜보는 동안 무엇을 멋지다 여기고 무엇을 멋지지 않다고 여기는지도 전보다 분명해졌다. 존경하고 응원할 사람도, 한마디 건네고 싶은 사람도 늘었다.
