RBW의 첫 보이그룹 원어스(ONEUS)의 데뷔앨범 [LIGHT US]가 1월 9일 발매된다.
RAVN(레이븐), 서호, 이도, 건희, 환웅, 시온으로 6인조로 구성된 원어스(ONEUS)는 '팬 한 명 한 명(ONE)의 힘이 모여 만들어진 우리(US)'라는 뜻을 가지고 있다. 또한 '결국 평범한 우리들이 함께 모여 하나의 세상을 만들어간다’는 의미도 함께 담겨 있다.

그간 실력파 뮤지션들의 성공을 이끌어온 RBW가 야심 차게 준비한 원어스(ONEUS)는 외모뿐만 아니라 작사, 작곡, 프로듀싱 그리고 안무를 직접 창작하는 실력까지 갖춘 아티스트형 퍼포먼스 그룹이다. 이미 팬들은 약 1년 10개월이란 시간 동안 ‘데뷔하겠습니다’라는 프로젝트를 통해 수많은 공연, 예능 및 버스킹 등 활발한 활동을 지켜봐왔다. 그리고 이제 팬들의 기다림의 마침표를 찍는 화려한 서막을 알리며 첫 번째 앨범 [LIGHT US]가 출시되었다.

이번 미니앨범 [LIGHT US]는 “우리를 비춘다”라는 주제를 담은 앨범으로 “사람들이 비추는 빛으로 탄생한 원어스(ONEUS)”가 만들어가는 음악을 뜻하며 동시에 타이틀곡 ‘발키리 (Valkyrie)’의 뜻처럼 어둠의 빛을 밝힌다는 의미를 담은 앨범이기도 하다.

타이틀곡 '발키리 (Valkyrie)'는 인상적인 기타 리프로 시작하여 묵직한 사운드로 전개되는 댄스 곡으로 힙합적인 요소가 가미된 사운드가 인상적인 곡이다.
또한 '발키리 (Valkyrie)'는 어둠 속에 있는 우리들을 밝히기 위해 '발키리'를 찾는다는 판타지적인 요소와 ‘빛’에 상징적 의미를 담고 있는 곡으로, 북유럽 신화 속 인간계의 전쟁에서 용감한 전사자가 생기면 전장에 나가 전사자들을 발할라 궁전으로 데리고 가는 존재로 알려진 '발키리'라는 주제와 불빛을 '밝히리'라는 중의적 표현이 더해져 이 곡의 완성도를 높였다.

미니앨범 [LIGHT US]에는 타이틀곡 포함하여 총 7곡이 수록되어 있는데 먼저 선공개 되어 개개인의 독창적인 퍼포먼스 영상과 음악으로 대중들에게 신선함을 주었던 인트로 트레일러 ‘Intro : LIGHT US’는 빛이 밝아오는 시각적인 효과를 음악으로 표현하여 미니앨범 [LIGHT US]를 함축적으로 표현한 곡이다.

그리고 색채감 있는 신스 사운드 테마에 중독성 강한 멜로디가 귀를 사로잡는 신스팝 ‘삐뚤빼뚤’은 ‘데뷔하겠습니다’ 프로젝트에서 여러 번 보여준 곡으로 이미 많은 사랑을 받은 곡이다.

원어스(ONEUS)의 첫 발라드곡 ‘붉은 실’은 보이지 않는 붉은 실이 인연을 맺어주는 중국의 설화를 모티브로 한 곡으로 차분한 피아노 선율로 시작으로 화려하게 펼쳐지는 신디사이저의 반전이 인상적인 곡이다.
