If you showed strong charisma with 'Goblin' in the last 5th mini album [CRYSTYLE], this time, CLC's strong visual and pure and dreamy charm will be highlighted. It is a rainbow-like album filled with songs of various styles, including tropical, R&B, ballad, and hip-hop, including the medium-tempo ballad title song, 'Where are you?'

The title song 'Where are you?' is a synth-pop song from the late 80s in the R&B Soul genre with a retro sound. arouse

2017년 여름을 저격할 CLC가 미니 6집 [FREE’SM]으로 돌아온다. 이번 앨범명인 [FREE’SM]은 자유로운 표현과 발상을 뜻하는 말로, 한 가지의 빛을 여러 가지 색으로 표현해내는 ‘프리즘’처럼 어떤 장르도 자유롭게 넘나들며 완벽하게 소화해내는 CLC만의 매력을 나타낸다.
지난 미니 5집 [CRYSTYLE]에서 ‘도깨비’로 강한 카리스마를 보여주었다면 이번에는 청순하고 몽환적인 매력과 비주얼에 강한 CLC만의 강점을 부각시킬 예정이다. 미디움 템포의 발라드인 타이틀곡 ‘어디야?’를 비롯해 트로피컬, R&B, 발라드, 힙합 등 다양한 스타일의 수록 곡들로 다채롭게 채워진 무지개 같은 매력의 앨범이다.

타이틀곡 ‘어디야?’는 80년대 후반 신스 팝으로 레트로한 사운드의 R&B Soul 장르의 곡으로, 시간이 지나 처음과는 달라졌다고 느껴지는 남자친구에 대한 외로움과 투정 섞인 마음을 전하는 이야기의 가사가 공감을 자아낸다.
몽환적이고 대중적인 멜로디가 듣는 이들의 귀를 충분히 사로잡을 수 있는 매력적인 곡이다. [프로듀스 101 시즌 2]에 출연해 많은 사랑을 받은 소속사 후배 유선호가 티저 영상에 등장해 타이틀 곡 ‘어디야?’에 대한 궁금증과 화제를 불러일으켰다.

그루비한 비트 위에 서정적이고 차분한 마림바 메인 리프가 인상적인 R&B곡인 두 번째 트랙 ‘BAE’는 연인들의 애칭 Baby를 뜻하는 말로, 짝사랑하는 이성의 마음을 도무지 알 수 없어 애태우며 하루만이라도 그 사람의 ‘Bae’가 되고 싶다는 순수하고 간절한 마음을 표현한 노래이다.
세 번째 트랙 ‘즐겨(I LIKE IT)’는 민요 ‘두꺼비집’에서 모티브를 얻어 현대식으로 변형시킨 메인 테마가 인상적이다. 따분한 일상에서 벗어나 오늘 하루만이라도 모든 걸 잊고 즐기자는 내용의 곡이다. 전작 ‘도깨비’와 같이 다시 한번 CLC의 걸크러시를 느낄 수 있는 파워풀하고 신나는 Trap 장르의 곡이다.

다섯 번째 트랙 ‘SUMMER KISS’는 90년대 뉴잭스윙 리듬에 신스와 리드, 아름다운 멜로디 선율이 잘 어우러진 댄스 곡이다. BTOB의 ‘ABOUT TIME’, ‘여행 가고 싶어’ 등을 작업한 프로듀싱 팀 MAJORIG과 CLC와의 작업이 신선한 케미를 보여준다. ‘도깨비’에서의 걸크러시와는 180도 다른 밝고 사랑스러운 소녀의 모습으로 변신해, 올여름 무더위를 시원하게 날려보낼 예정이다.
