아침에 눈뜨자마자 네 얼굴이 두둥실 떠오른다. 괜스레 네게 마음을 들키는 것만 같아 얼른 고개를 가로젓는다. 오늘은 해가 다 지도록 한 통의 연락도 오지 않는다. 종일 소식 없는 대화창만 애꿎게 들락날락. 그래도 이런 널 좋아한다고, 부끄러워 내 볼이 빨갛게 물들어도 이런 네게 좋아한다 말하고 싶어.
사랑에 있어 표현은 중요한 요소다. ‘썸 탈꺼야’는 좋아하는 사람에게 밀고 당기기 보다 자신의 마음을 숨기지 않고 솔직하게 표현해 사춘기스러움이 묻어나는 곡이다. 전주와 도입부, 후렴 각각 리듬이 다르게 진행되어 상대를 좋아하는 마음처럼 버라이어티하고 다양한 구성을 느낄 수 있다.

아직 널 좋아하지만 좋아하지 않는, 미워하지만 미워하지 않는. 너와 함께 하던 시간들이 익숙함이 되고, 달콤한 멜로디를 내던 마음들이 어긋나 불협화음을 만든다. 헤어지고 난 후 파랗게 칠해진 그와 나 사이의 심리를 우울하고 차가운 색으로 표현 한 곡 ‘Blue’. 나일론 기타의 대선이 돋보인다.

“기운이 하나도 없어. 밥도 잘 넘어가질 않아. 세상에 젤 슬픈 얼굴로 거리를 걷고. 머릿속에 먹구름이, 좀처럼 해가 뜨질 않아. 눈 밑이 점점 어두워져요. 어떡해, 나를 고쳐주세요.”
제목에서 느껴지듯 ‘고쳐주세요’는 기운이 하나도 없고, 입맛도 없는 나를 고칠 수 있는 건 네 밝은 미소와 사랑뿐이라는 귀여운 고백을 담은 곡이다. 청량한 기타 사운드가 곡을 전체적으로 리드하고, 드럼과 베이스의 리듬감 있는 연주가 돋보인다. 한 번만 들어도 익숙해지는 간결한 멜로디와 대중적 요소가 특징이다.

누군가를 마음에 들이게 되면, 매 순간 그와 시간을 보내는 상상을 하게 된다. 함께 맛있는 음식을 먹거나, 손을 맞잡고 영화를 보는 그런. 상대의 연락이 오기만을 온종일 기다리고, 메시지 하나에 마음이 부풀어 터질 것만 같다.
‘상상’은 강아지가 하루 종일 주인만을 생각하며 기다리는 것처럼, 매일 상상만 하는 지루한 시간이 지나가고, 그가 어서 빨리 내 마음을 알아차리길 바라는 마음을 귀엽게 담았다. 발랄한 가사와 경쾌한 기타 리듬이 돋보인다.

누구나 한 번쯤 겪는 사춘기. 한때처럼 살아가며 겪는 성장통에 아파하는 모든 이에게 위로의 마음을 건네는 ‘나의 사춘기에게’. 아름답고 아름답던 이 시절은 언젠가는 짧게 나마 빛을 내 비출 것이라는 소망을 담은, 아직은 여리고 어리숙한 나의 사춘기들에게 위로를 보내는 곡이다. 웅장한 사운드와 함께 대규모 편성이 이루어졌다.
