(G)I-DLE's 5th mini album [I love]

In March 2022, they made a comeback with their first full-length album 'I NEVER DIE' and reached the top of the iTunes charts in 24 regions around the world and ranked 58th on the 'Billboard Global 200' chart. (G)I-DLE, who were recognized as artists, successfully wrapped up the '2022 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [JUST ME ( )I-DLE]' held in 18 cities in 10 countries and returned after 7 months.

[I love] contains a strong determination to show the real me, throwing off the pretense that I don't want, and that 'I' should exist as 'me', not as someone else wants to be.
Each of the six tracks on the album tells a different story of love musically. (G)I-DLE has fully digested various genres such as pop, rock, indie pop, and hip-hop with their own style. In this album as well, Jeon So-yeon took the lead in the overall production of the album as a general producer, and the members participated in composing and writing lyrics for all songs, proving the image of an 'all-around artist'.

The title song 'Nxde' is an alternative pop genre song that borrows the melody of the aria 'Habanera' from the opera 'Carmen' to express everyone's persona as 'Show'. It is expressed in comparison, and the lyrics boldly sarcastic about the obscene gaze on words are impressive. It's like a musical number that you can't take your eyes off even for a moment, focusing attention with the rich bass line of the shuffle rhythm and straightforward lyrics.

Previously, (G)I-DLE had the 'Act' concept expressing the ambivalence of the emotion of love, the 'Born' concept with visuals inspired by Marilyn Monroe, who was greatly loved in Hollywood, and the 'X' concept facing the back of an artist loved by everyone. -File' concept and other three concept images were released in succession, raising expectations for the album. In addition, the music video for 'Nxde' utilizes animation to deliver a message in a way that is not too heavy, and presents a different spectacle to fans.

(G)I-DLE stands barefoot on the ground in order to break down prejudices and protect the things they love, the things that love them, and themselves, 'even if they don't look good, even if they don't get loved again'. I look forward to their steps that will finally change the times.

(여자)아이들의 다섯 번째 미니 앨범 [I love]

2022년 3월, 첫 번째 정규 앨범 'I NEVER DIE'로 컴백해 전 세계 24개 지역 아이튠즈 차트 정상에 등극, '빌보드 글로벌 200' 차트에서 58위를 기록하는 등 자체 최고 성적을 거두며 K-POP 대표 아티스트로 인정받은 (여자)아이들이 10개국 18개 도시에서 개최된 '2022 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [JUST ME ( )I-DLE]'을 성황리에 마무리하고 7개월 만에 돌아온다.

[I love]는 '나'는 내가 아닌 다른 누군가가 원하는 모습이 아닌 그냥 '나' 본연의 모습으로 존재해야 마땅하며 내가 원하지 않는 겉치레는 벗어 던지고 꾸밈없는 본모습을 보여주겠다는 당찬 각오를 담고 있다.
앨범에 수록된 6개의 트랙은 각기 다른 사랑에 대한 이야기를 음악적으로 풀어냈다. 팝, 록, 인디 팝, 힙합 등의 다채로운 장르를 (여자)아이들만의 스타일로 충분히 소화해냈다. 이번 앨범 또한 전소연이 총괄 프로듀서로서 앨범 제작 전반을 주도적으로 진두지휘하였으며 멤버들이 전곡 작곡, 작사에 참여하여 '만능 아티스트'다운 면모를 충분히 입증한다.

타이틀곡 'Nxde'는 모든 사람의 페르소나를 'Show'로 표현하고자 오페라 '카르멘'의 아리아 '하바네라'의 멜로디를 차용한 얼터너티브 팝 장르의 곡으로, 꾸며지지 않은 개인의 본모습을 누드라는 단어에 빗대어 표현하였으며 단어에 대한 외설스러운 시선을 대범하게 비꼬는 가사가 인상적이다. 셔플 리듬의 풍부한 베이스 라인과 직설적인 가사가 어우러져 이목을 집중시키는 것이 한순간도 눈을 뗄 수 없는 뮤지컬 넘버 같기도 하다.

앞서 (여자)아이들은 사랑이라는 감정에 대한 양면성을 표현한 'Act' 콘셉트를 비롯해 할리우드에서 엄청난 사랑을 받았던 마릴린 먼로에게 영감을 얻은 비주얼의 'Born' 콘셉트, 누구에게나 사랑받는 아티스트의 뒷면을 마주한 'X-File' 콘셉트 등의 세 콘셉트 이미지를 연달아 공개하며 앨범에 대한 기대감을 높였다. 더불어 'Nxde' 뮤직비디오는 애니메이션을 활용하여 너무 무겁지 않은 방식으로 메시지를 전달하면서 팬들에게는 색다른 볼거리를 선사한다.

(여자)아이들은 편견을 부수고, 자신이 사랑하는 것들과 자신을 사랑해주는 것들 그리고 자신을 지키기 위해 '꼴이 볼품없더라도, 어쩌면 다신 사랑받지 못한다고 해도' 맨발로 땅을 딛고 선다. 마침내 시대를 뒤바꿀 그들의 발걸음이 더욱 기대된다.
