The original soundtrack for the 2026 crime entertainment film "Project Y," which opens new horizons for the genre, will be released in an LP edition. Completed under the direction of music director GRAY, renowned for his unparalleled production sense, the album vividly recreates the story of Mi-sun (Han So-hee) and Do-kyung (Jeon Jong-seo), who steal gold bars in the heart of Seoul for their last chance at life.
The LP version was reconstructed as an "Essential Selection" of 19 tracks, carefully selecting the core vocals and signature score that most strongly drive the film's emotional arc and rhythm from all the tracks released online (digitally). The track flow was curated based on the narrative and tension of SIDE A and SIDE B, ensuring that each record flows like a single film from beginning to end.
SIDE A, centered around the vocal tracks that dominate the film's opening frame, meticulously builds the emotional temperature of the two characters unfolding beneath the "neon lights of the city." HWASA's "FOOL FOR YOU," the opening title track, features a rich and delicate vocal overlay of 70s soul and jazz textures, instantly setting the mood for the film, heralding the inescapable paradox of life. Kim Wan-sun's "PADO" embodies the characters' states of being swayed and pushed by the nightscape of the city, heralding both cold romance and deprivation with her sharp yet lingering voice. DeVita's "THE CABARET" and "WHISPERS IN THE NIGHT" dreamily portray the bitter truth hidden behind the glamour, while Hoody's "ELECTRIC LIGHTS" transparently illuminates the night's intersecting lines of freedom and futility with a sophisticated city pop mood. Next, Ahn Shin-ae's "MAN IN THE SKY" condenses the climax with explosive soulful singing, raising the thrill just before the ending. "PROJECT Y," included at the end of SIDE A, is a score track rather than a vocal piece, instantly evoking the tension and rhythm of the entire work and creating a transition point for the next side.
SIDE B features a selection of scores designed by GRAY, meticulously orchestrating the film's urban rhythms and the temperature of each scene. At times, they propel the scenes forward, at others, they quietly sustain them, building emotional narratives unreachable through music. Atop the analog textures built by the needle's grooves, these scores complete the world of <Project Y> in a way that allows us to "listen" to it once again.
MUSIC DIRECTOR'S NOTES -
When I read the script, the characters' emotions already sounded musical. I wanted the songs to be more than just inserts, but rather "emotional devices" that drive the characters' inner lives and narrative. I worked to ensure each melody and lyric naturally harmonized with the scenes.

LP 버전은 온라인 발매(디지털)로 공개된 전체 트랙 가운데 영화의 감정선과 리듬을 가장 강하게 견인하는 핵심 가창곡과 시그니처 스코어를 엄선해, 총 19트랙의 '에센셜 셀렉션'으로 재구성했다. 한 장의 레코드가 시작부터 끝까지 한 편의 영화처럼 흐르도록, SIDE A와 SIDE B의 서사와 텐션을 기준으로 트랙 플로우를 큐레이션한 구성이 특징이다.
