Wonho EP [CORE]
Wonho reveals a deeper layer of emotion.
This album goes a step further than simply emphasizing a strong image or performance. From the shell created to hide wounds, the protective shield erected to defend oneself, to the true heart that eventually reveals itself through the cracks. [CORE] follows this flow of emotions, calmly shedding light on what has long lingered inside Wonho.
This EP clearly demonstrates the direction Wonho is currently heading. Throughout his career, Wonho’s music and stage presence have possessed an instant captivating power. His performances were always dense, and his vocals and mood clearly had a distinct character of their own. However, [CORE] does not stop at merely repeating that familiar impression. This time, rather than pushing harder, he shifts his focus toward the emotions that linger behind that power. Consequently, this album leaves a longer afterimage than mere flashiness, and stays in the heart longer than just intense impact.
The overarching theme of this album is also clear. The keywords 'RAW,' 'SHELL,' and 'CRACK' follow, in order, a wounded inner self, the protective shield created to defend oneself, and the cracks that have formed in that shield. It is not the story of a perfectly solid person, but rather the story of someone who wavers, endures, and looks back into themselves. It does not sugarcoat this process; instead, by openly revealing his emotions without hiding them, it makes the current Wonho even more distinct.

● The moment when emotions detached from reality are pushed most vividly
The title track, 'Don't Wake Me Up!', is the song that most clearly demonstrates the direction of this EP. The entire track is enveloped by the emotion of willingly throwing oneself into a captivating fantasy to escape the stifling reality, and the desire to hold onto the heat of that moment a little longer. Heart-pounding heavy bass, intense drums, and synth sounds overlap over a fast tempo, while Wonho's vocals begin softly and push forward powerfully. Therefore, rather than being simply an intense uptempo track, this song is closer to a piece that holds onto the single moment when emotions surge most intensely until the very end.
The visuals follow the same direction. Scenes leading from an underground parking lot and concrete corridors to crowds and chases, red lighting, and a performance in the rain intuitively portray control, conflict, and the sense of liberation at the end. The reason the viewer's gaze remains drawn to these rough and dark spaces is that the images are not merely arranged to appear intense. Through both sound and visuals, the film densely carries the moment when emotions waver and burst forth.

● 7 Tracks Flowing Along the Temperature of Emotions
This EP gradually expands the textures of emotion within the flow of its seven tracks. 'Answer' opens with an attitude of not hiding emotions even amidst the ambiguity of a relationship, while 'Don't Wake Me Up!' drives that flow in a hotter and clearer direction. 'Can't Get Enough' dramatically pushes forward the longing that deepens with time and the unquenchable thirst, while 'Summer Blue' and 'Test Drive' sensuously express the most brilliant and heart-fluttering moments of love, further enriching the album's texture. Additionally, 'Down,' first unveiled during the previous tour, boosts immediate energy with its intense beat and addictive groove, and the final track, 'Promises,' wraps the end of the album with a sincere and calm confession of staying by someone's side no matter the moment.
The reason this album is so engaging is that the flow of emotion is grasped before the genre. The fluidity of R&B, the speed of dance-pop, and a more relaxed mood flow naturally within a single album, and in doing so, Wonho's vocals create subtly different expressions. That is why it feels clearer and lingers longer.

● An album that shines a light on the current Wonho beyond the energy of the stage
This album sounds like an album by a more solid Wonho, yet at the same time, an album by a more honest Wonho. [CORE] does not stop at merely re-showcasing Wonho’s already established strengths. While building upon the sensibilities he has cultivated through performance, vocals, and songwriting, this time it illuminates the inner side of that power more clearly than the outer side.
The shell that covered the wound, the crack that formed on it, and the heart that ultimately remains behind. [CORE] is a new album that follows this flow, presenting the current Wonho in the most honest way.

타이틀곡 'Don't Wake Me Up!'

'Answer'가 관계의 모호함 속에서도 감정을 숨기지 않는 태도로 문을 열고, 'Don't Wake Me Up!' 'Can't Get Enough'는 시간이 흐를수록 짙어지는 그리움과 채워지지 않는 갈증을 드라마틱하게 밀어붙이고, 'Summer Blue'와 'Test Drive'는 사랑의 가장 찬란하고 설레는 순간들을 감각적으로 표현해 앨범의 결을 더욱 풍성하게 만든다.
